Afy
Well I have small kitchen garden about 150 sq m and a 50 sqm green house nourishing a wide variety of weeds and misc junk.... Same story with flower beds et al.... Digging up the weeds by hand is difficult to say the least. So what is the alternative?
andyh4
Black Polythene film. Spread it out over the ground; weigh down the edges so it does not blow away - actually best to bury the edges so that wind cannot get underneath. Next spring plant through the film (cut small slits to plant you plants). next autumn remove the film and the weeds should be gone. The downside is that slugs and snails will enjoy living in the damp under the film and it is not easy to do anything about them apart from lifting the film, disposing of said pests and replacing the film.
