passion fruit

Can anyone tell me, please, whether the big, bright orange fruit, about the size of a big egg, is indeed passion fruit and is it edible? They have bright red interiors.

P. caerulea is commonly grown outdoors in gardens in France and Britain.  But it's not worth eating the fruit as there's hardly any flesh.  The edible ones are grown under glass or in the sub-tropics.

That's them. Thanks Cassis. There are loads on the vine to the extent they are blocking the entrance. Just have to wait til they fall off then as I'm not going to cut them back.
