I am a Australian and Irish citizen I left my Australian Husband 8 years ago.I have no children or property .

I must admit I've not found that to be so. I was divorced in 1990 and remarried in 1994. We moved to FRance in 2006 but have not had to mention my ex in any documentation. It maybe different if you have minor children where the father has an interest. I, too, left my marriage without any funds and a 14 year old daughter. It may also be different if you're looking for citizenship but if you have Irish citizenship then I imagine you'll not need to do that.

Is your OH French ? If the ex-husband is of a different nationality eg Australian then the situation might be different.

Every time my late husband and I (both British) purchased property in France, his first wife/wedding had to be mentioned in the deeds, and he had to produce his certificate of divorce, along with that of our current marriage.
