Telephones in holiday lets

We use France Telecom's online facility where you can view telephone costs on a day to day basis.

It is part of our booking conditions that the telephone costs are deducted from the security deposit. Never had any bother and most of the time the calls are minimal and and we allow them free of charge as a courtesy (usually anything under 10).

You would probably find that the "selection modulable" facility would be useful. Before you leave you key in a PIN number and can then block differing levels of calls. You can block all calls , international calls, calls to mobiles in 6 set groups. And its free. Try

France Telecom do a deal specifically intended for the letting market.

It's called "Telejour". Details on the FT website.

Costs an additional 4 (approx) per month on top of line rental.

Phone can accept all incoming calls.

Outgoing emergency numbers and FT freephone numbers can be direct dialled out.

All other outgoing calls have to be done using a FT "Ticket" card which gite guests can buy from TABACs etc. Or can be bought via FT website's shop.

We've got it and it works well and seems to be appreciated.
