Eslier
I run a successful registered gite business and, like many others, keep computer records including my clients personal details. If I was keeping such records whilst running a business in the UK I would be obliged to register under the Data Protection Act. Does anyone know if there such a thing in France ? If so is it similar to the UK and is it "officialy" obligatory to register and does anyone bother ?
BJSLIV
The French equivalent of the Data Registrar is La comission national de l'informatique et des libertes!. (aka CNIL)Anyone holding data which would allow an individual to be identified is supposed to register. Now whether anyone at the Gite level of operations ever does..... I note on their site that there are regulations covering how and when clubs and societies should register..... www.cnil.fr
