Have just been to a couple of local pharmacies to see what I can get to replace my trusty Piriton, a.k.a. the cheaper but unpronounceable chlorpheniramine. Was shattered to find that i can get 14 tablets for Fr29.50 - with the amount I take we'll be bankrupt by Christmas..... Apart from Red Cross drug parcels from home, does anyone have any ideas?

I buy Virlix in France (you need the pharmacist to agree you can have them as they are theoretically prescription only, but they always seem to agree). They cost about 5 for 15 but you only take one a day and they are very good. I have to take loads of piriton for the same effect! The equivalent in UK (can't remember the name but the chemist in Boots looked at the Virlix packet) and they cost 4 or so for just 7.

My husband says handkerchiefs would be cheaper.
