  11. I have a friend who has a barn attached to her completely renovated and beautiful house. She wishes to change the barn from being just a garage into a bedroom, office and a bathroom and WC. She doesn't intend to make any new windows or doors or alter the outside of the building. The mairie has told her that she can only renovate 50m2 of the barn but then her architect came back to her and told her just to use the original plans which are more like 100m2.... and that nobody would know. She is new to France and doesn't want to breaks laws and so on.... can anyone give advice on this situation and can she change the mairie's mind anyhow?
  12. Does anybody have any information on health farms or spas that offer one day specials... in the Gard /Herault area. I've seen the Mercure in Grau du Roi... but was hopefully looking for something more massage / facial / manicure kind of thing rather than thalassotherapy. Thanks Wendy

  15. There's something very special in the Provence area called Boutis (do a search on www.google.fr ) and there's a museum of Boutis near us in Calvisson and our local stitching shop does courses. Tootles - as for inheritance - there are ways around this - you can set up a French company for just Euro1000- to avoid problems. I've just joined a cross stitch club near me too... there are quite a lot of these around I've found. Wendy Gard www.chateaukeyboard.com/wendy
