Not receiving BBC1, BBC2 and ITV

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help with this problem (possibly Mazan)? Installed satellite dish and digibox (Panasonic) and alligned to Astra 2. Can receive Channel 4 and Channel 5 OK plus lots of other free channels - Discovery, UK Gold etc.

Tried switching off at mains for 5 minutes and switching back on, and also tried downloading software without symptoms changing. The message "No satellite signal being received" comes up when trying to select these channels. The picture is clear and signal strength and quality are good. I am using blue Sky card with a house on it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Those last two are not free. You must be using a subscription card.

That message indicates that there is a signal problem. If you didn't use a meter to align the dish then you should do so. Then you will need to adjust the LNB skew. If none of that makes any difference then you have a band switching problem that may be caused by a faulty LNB, or a faulty or incorrectly adjusted digibox or some other reason. Try your box on a dish that is known to be correctly aligned to test it all.

Sounds crazy, but have you tried tuning into 103 (ITV) and then putting in 101 for BBC. For some weird reason, we periodically get the 'no satellite' signal on BBC1/2 when we can still get all the other channels and there is virtually perfect signal strength and quality. By putting in 103 and then going back to 101, we always (hope I am not tempting fate there!) get it back! Doesn't work by using the blue button for 'favourite channels'.

Bizarre!
