Easyspace web hosting

Recommended Posts

Does anyone else have their website hosted by Easyspace?

We have had no response from them about the problem of our site not being available for the past few days. A friend has also had the same problem plus neither of us are receiving any mail through our sites and can't even pick them up from the site either.

Does anyone have any news or opinion about this really annoying problem with Easypsace who thus far have not answered the daily emails or faxes.

I don't use Easyspace but I do use HeartInternet, this is a UK based company who are currently offering FREE hosting for all .co.uk domains.

I have transferred 2 domains to them without problem, except you need a unique email address for each application.

There is a lot of functionality offered with this host, but they do not offer support for the free hosting.

Thanks for the reply Jongleur,

We came back online a couple of days ago, only sporadically at first but from yesterday all seems fine. We have had a couple of replies from different depts of Easyspace and it is full of "wurzleese"  comments and I shall probably have to get Aunt Sally or that Beetroot feller to translate it all

I shall certainly  have a good look at HeartInternet but we are .com but never the less, we will still study the benefits of their services against Easyspace.

Any one else know of any good hosting services, just in case Easyspace do it again to us?

I have always used UK2 (www.uk2.net). In about 4 years I have never had an outage (except for maintenance & one gets plenty of notice). Not particularly expensive (£50) and they support CGI etc.

Only problem is if you don't pay them, they tend to delete yr site (without a backup) within about 8mS - which is what happened to aplaceinfrance.com...

BTW, you were kind enough to give me directions to BricoDepot in Rennes some time ago, but I & the forum have lost them. Do you still have them?

Thanks to both of you for the host names, will certainly have a look.

Nick,

Right from Dinan take the road over the viaduct to Lanvallay and then take the road to Rennes, once you get on to the dual carriageway the N137 follow straight on for around 30 km's until finally arriving at St Gregoire and the rocade (perpherique) around Rennes.

Carry straight on through the traffic lights and follow signs centre commercial and you will see Geant Casino and Brico Depot on your right. Simply carry on to the roundabout thgen turn tight and go back on yourself within the grounds of the centre commercial and follow signs to Brico Depot which is a few hundred metres along the outer road.

Once you have been there, you will become a regular like so many of us in Brittany !!
