Collecting Hotmail mail

Hi

I use Thunderbird to read my mail: I redirect my yahoo mail and my website mail to my main Alice-Tiscali account, which is then "washed" for junk mail through Mailwasher, but I cannot seem to be able to redirect my Hotmail mail over to Tiscali or indeed to collect it via Thunderbird...

I want to keep hotmail, as it is useful for "crappy" mailshots (if you see what I mean!)

What am I missing?

There might be a couple of things out there to help you, don't know much about them but there is freeware (I think) called 'GetMail' (try a search for it) that will forward hotmail and others to another mail address. Also something called 'Mail Forward'. Good luck!

I don't know Thunderbird (I know very little about anything, really) but I do know that the last time we tried to add a new Hotmail account to Outlook Express, OE said that it didn't do Hotmail accounts any more.  My own Hotmail account still works because I set it up before OE did this.  Maybe Thunderbird just doesn't do Hotmail either?

It's only a thought, please don't anyone jump on me!

Thanks zrx1100, but what I had in mind had more to do with tweaking existing settings rather than adding to them.

At the moment, I go to Hotmail to read any Hotmail messages.

I know I could set up a Hotmail account within Thunderbird, but that would collect all the crappy emails straight from Hotmail, without the chance of filtering and deleted them from Mailwasher, as I do for all my other mail accounts (all redirected to my main account and Mailwashed before being downloaded)

For instance, within my yahoo account, I have to option to redirect my mail (to my Alice-Tiscali address) and, although I have looked for a similar thing on Hotmail, I cannot seem to find it. Does the facility exist?

I also have OE, but I am trying to send ALL my emails to Mailwasher to filter all the crap before it lands in my inbox.

Mailwasher accesses my main inbox (Alice-Tiscali), and allows me to preview the message headers, senders and subjects without actually downloading the messages.

I can then delete anything suspect (mailshots, Viagra, Assurland or other) from my inbox on the Alice-Tiscali server before getting the mail I choose to receive into my Thunderbird inbox.

I use Thunderbird simply because I quite like the Mozilla products.

So far so good, except with Hotmail, which I cannot seem to redirect to my Alice-Tiscali main address...
