Poor Vera miraculously rescued

A couple of young men who went to the déchetterie at Cers (34) noticed a plastic bag, which seemed to be breathing, thrown into a container.  They opened it to find an eight year old Brittany Spaniel in the bag full of blood and excrement.  She was still alive and they rushed her to the vet who removed 77 lead shots (if that's the term in English) from her body.  She had also been violently beaten which had left her with a cracked rib.

Vera is now in foster care with a retired doctor and his wife, a retired nurse, who says she is very sweet and gentle.  They want to adopt her, love her and help her forget her ordeal.

From what I can understand the owner has been traced through her tattoo, but he is far too old and in bad health to be capable of doing such a thing and they are still trying to find the person guilty of this terrible act.
