Same as Honeysuckle for buying the hens. you might have to wait a while before they settle in and start laying. The white ones (like Sussex) do better for laying than the brown barenecks, which we've found are better for eating.

For the food, you might find that the nearest agricoop are cheaper. We don't buy layer's pellets, just maize concassé mixed with wheat (blé).

I go to the local Terres Du Sud/Gamm Vert and buy a big bag of corn, and also a bag of 'poule pondeuse' mix. If you want more information about keeping hens, I also belong to a poultry forum which has a lot of French members who can help with where to source things locally/named of things, etc. PM me if you want more details.
