As a non-EU licence holder, your licence is valid for up to a year following you taking up permenent residence in France.

You will need to exchange it at your prefecture.  You will need the following:

- Licence exchange application form (demande d'échange de permis de conduire);

- Passport

- Two passport sized photographs

- Your Jersey licence (you may require to provide a translation if it is not in EU standard format)

- Carte de sejour for non-EU citizen (you may be able to just provide a utility bill as proof of address)

- Fee (some departements do not charge for this service)
