Cars have feelings too?

As some of you will have inferred from my recent postings, we are in the process of selling up. Our car is planned to be the next thing to go, and after 6 years of never having missed a beat, the battery started showing signs of old age almost as soon as we had made the decision, taking just that extra half-second to start the car. It has one last major trip to do in the next few weeks, to Switzerland, Germany, Austria and back, before being put on the market, so as it is due an oil change I booked it into a local garage for a service (on the assumption that we might as well benefit from the service and if new brake pads were required (for example), they would have time to bed in before the obligatory CT).Of course the car responded by having its battery die completely on the day of the service. Oh well, it's better that it did it yesterday than when trying to start at minus whatever in Germany!
