My rubber, and very floppy, flip flops (note, NOT fitflops, an entirely different beastie altogether) are worn to walk from the house to the pool and back again, for my swim, and no further.  RH I find my ballerina crocs, so comfortable, yes, but not good for driving, as they come off.  I need a higher front or indeed a fitted sandal to drive in.  I can also NOT drive in boots as I cannot feel the pedal well enough.  Hence in the summer driving in the summer in fitflops, and in the winter in my smart slip-on moccasin type shoes from M&S (which I cannot replace as they don't do then any more - grrr!!!).
