After two years of weekend renovating (as we work during the week), we've finished our huge barn conversion and it's now a ........sitting room with large mezzanine study/reading area. So our little cottage is now....a house.... and I think it looks fantastic!Can't post a photo (I have an old iMac) but here's a taster. Lovely pointed honey coloured stones, huge beams, lots of white rough plasterwork hiding tonnes of placoplatre and insulation, a huge gifted woodburner, terracotta tiles etc etc - just waiting for huge art work and a baby grand!!!So don't lose heart - it can and will be done. The Riff-Raff Element Posted June 28, 2006 Share Posted June 28, 2006 After four years of renovating properties for the business (income hadto come first, obviously) I have finally, this very morning in fact,started work on our own kitchen...EDIT: I should qualify the above by saying that what I am actuallydoing is building an improved food prep area for the guest meals we do,but the upshot will be an improvement in the bit of kitchen we use for ourselves.
