Cheapest Fuel for Central Heating / Hot water?

We have a house in Limousin and want to install central heating / hot water.  We thought about a large LPG tank but can anyone say if this is the cheapest fuel / running cost

Yes I can, and no it's not.

 

In order of costs per KW generated heat starting from the cheapest

 

Solar and wind - but high set up costs

wood - but not automatic

wood chip - can be partially automatic but requires a large silo as fuel store

oil

electricity

gas - independant system (ie tank or more expensively bottles) - for those few with mains gas I don't know where this sits on the scale.
