maude Posted July 16, 2006 Share Posted July 16, 2006 I am trying to sort out the legal sizes of our patch as shown on the legal cadastre.I note that the "contenances" have 3 columns-1) Ha,2)A,and finally 3)Ca and then the areas noted underneath.Can anyone tell me what dimensional areas in sqare meters these mean.For instance Section B is shown as 18 under A,and Ca80 .Hope someone can understand this blurb-Thanks maude Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Area therefore of 18.8 hectraes or 188,000 square metres. I do not have our Acte to hand so cannot check . Remember french usage of decimal point were we use a comma and vv. Albert the InfoGipsy Posted July 16, 2006 Share Posted July 16, 2006 Actually, the three columns look like they should be Hectare, Are, Centare.The are (area equal to 100 square meters) is the basic metric unit of land arera measurement.A hectare is 100 ares (10000 sq m)The centiare (or centare) equals 0.01 are, which is exactly 1 square meterThis means that you have an area of 18 hectares, plus 80 are.
