Suandpete Posted November 12, 2006 Share Posted November 12, 2006 A friend has had the misfortune to break the marble top of her bathroomunit which has 2 oval sinks set into it. Does anyone have anyideas on how she could get a replacement without having to buy a wholenew unit? I understand that Funeral Directors could probablyprovide the marble - but I doubt they would have the equipment to cutthe two oval holes. Any ideas anyone? If you look at how ornate some French funerary monuments (I hesitate to say just 'gravestones' here) are then a couple of oval holes should be a doddle.Out of interest, are the edges of the holes visible or covered by the basin trim? We did not go down the 'cemetery rout' and as we live in an area well known for its granite and like we went to our local kitchen company. They came out measured up and re-installed the marble.
