Another Fosse Question I'm Afraid

I have had a fosse installed recently and will not be using it a great deal whilst building work gets under way.

Is there anything I should do to maintain it during the months of Non use ?

Make sure it is full of water and stays that way, otherwise in this weather the water table can push it out of the ground - a bit like floating the Mary Rose!

A double dose of Eparcyl (or equivalent) before you go and when you come back to keep the bacteria up.

     sorry Dick but Eparcyl is a bit expensive  , you a re better of using Tarax it will last for 6 months you can use bleach and bio washing powder with it and its only €8 ish.... but if it`s not going to be used just do as the other post said and just make sure it`s full of water , a good installer would have filled it as he back filled any way but just make sure it`s full

No it isn't! We use it and it has never seemed expensive at all (€10 for half a litre)

I read the OP as saying that it would be used intermittently, in which case he would need bacteria.

Thanks to you all.

We gave it one dose of treatment in September 2006 and plan to do the same in March 2007 and I checked the tank before I left in September 2006 and it was full of water.
