Windows

Hi all,

Would we need planning of any type to change are windows. We are not changeing any sizes. They are single glazed wood, and we want to change them to double glazed wood.

Unless you are in a village and x metres from a national monument you can change the style of your windows to whatever you want, even if you are in a conservation area as long as the appearance is like for like there is no need to get any permission, if you have any doubts ask at your Mairie.

If you get the right types put in by a proper tradesman then you can get a bit of a tax rebate.

Make sure it is done right though or you wont get the rebate. Check the forum for details. Cat will have them to claw or frogs leg.

Hi egger - just for info...we had new windows installed in February... double glazed wooden windows from Lapeyre.  They kept every appointment, turned up on time every day, cleared up their mess and the windows are brilliant... makes a huge difference.  [:)]

Thats where we are having ours from., but we having someone esle fit them.

"but we having someone else fit them" ...........  well you won't get any tax relief then.

 

Unless the windows are supplied and fitted by a registered artisan you will not get any tax relief, the supply and fitting must be on a single TVA invoice from the artisan, but you get no rebate for the man hours element of the invoice.

Oh thats just not fair [:(]. He is registered. To be honest I did not know, they did fit them from the shop. Still I live and learn.
