BIG MAC Posted April 30, 2010 Share Posted April 30, 2010 'Engineered' may be solid wood but designed to behave in a certain way ie. dried in a controlled way, machined to include / exclude heartwood. Relief machined to the underside to control warp.It could be glue laminated timber to ply, timber to timber or even photo lacquered.Engineered really means machined or manipulateded in such a way as to perform within an adequate range / tolerance.
