  1. The french have changed the website I normally log on to to turn on our phone. For some reason I keep being logged on as a visitor on the new link and not able to access the account, need to turn on the phone for our visit next week. Has anyone else had the same problem recently, turned the phone off 3 months ago without a problem. Thanks ps. just spoken to them and their system is "broken" and won't be fixed for another 3 days - glad it wasn't me!
  2. We planted a bare root hedge with much of the same mixture in November last year. Plants were about a metre high and supplier suggested 50cm distant apart in 2 rows staggered. Tops on some were trimed to level height and straggly bits pruned off. When down at Christmas hedge looked healthy and we will fill in a few spaces that look bare with some left over plants. Bon Chance.
  3. Thank you, sounds interesting. Will have to investigate further to see if worth the extra, although any thing to provide more heat after our Christmas/ New Year visit would be very welcome!
  4. Have been looking on web for a woodburner and have come accross some which offer a "Kit Supratherme" for an additional price of around €430.00. No idea what this is and what it would add to the woodburners performance. Can someone enlighten me please. Thank
  5. Have you looked to the french website www.flaner-in-provence.fr. They have a wide selection of all types of door handles and are happy to post. We chose our porcelain handles for our internal oak doors on our barn conversion in the Indre, while on holiday in Provence, and they posted them to our UK address so we could take them down on our next trip. Not cheap, but we were very pleased with the quality Bertie[:)]
  6. Thank you all, The cooker is fed via rubber hose and regulator, so will check out the large bottles(Butane-it will be located inside) at my local Intermarche and get a new regulator as well. Don't need to worry too much about ventilation as we are well ventilated via the dodgy window frames!! Had been looking at a Remoska Cooker in the Lakeland brochure, theres a branch of Lakeland not too far away, am going to have a look this weekend. Thanks again Bertie
  7. While waiting for a kitchen to be installed, I'm using a 2 burner/grill Camping Gaz cooker and am getting through camping gaz bottles very quickly I know the camping holiday companies attach the larger domestic size bottles to camping stoves in their tent setups, so, what do I need to do the same. Bottle would need to be installed inside. New kitchen looks to be a while off yet!!! Thanks Bertie
  8. Where can I buy a rotary clothes line? Only seem to be able to fine static ones consisting of 2 end posts with lines between. Bertie

    Oak Trees

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully it is just mildew and nothing more sinister, will have to wait to see until we are down at the end of August. Mind you, if the weathers been anything like it is here in the UK at the moment, then mildew would not be a surprise. Regards Bertie

    Oak Trees

We have a number of old oak trees on the farmers field side of our boundary at our house in the Indre. On a brief visit last weekend I noticed that the lower half of one of the trees had a grey powdery looking fungus/mould on the leaves. The leaves on the upper half looked normal and there wasn't any other sign of "distress". Have googled, but not been able to indentify what this could be. It dosn't appear to have spread to any of the other trees in the row, but it would be a shame if we lose these lovely trees. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you Bertie
  11. Thanks everyone, Have had a look at Falcon which from the website has everything we need and is cheaper. It's also available from a number of shops in Chateauroux. Shame about the Godin Regards Bertie
  12. Thank you for that. Both cookers are lovely to look at and would look marvellous in a farmhouse kitchen, but we have had some mixed comments from UK owners as well. Our local supplier in the Indre has De Detrich, Smeg and Rosieres in the 1mt size we need, so will  look at those before deciding. Bertie
  13. We are thinking of installing either a Godin or Lacanche in our farmhouse, LPG gas hobs and 1 electric and 1 gas oven if possible models At the moment it looks like a Lacanche model with a seperate grill as it appears the Godin dosn't come fitted with a grill. Any info and advice from  owners of either would be appreciated.   Thanks   Bertie
