  1. Hi all,   Well we have signed the compris and we are moving to France in the next 6 to 12 weeks. We are trying to find out if there are any other English children in the Fouqueure / Aigre area in the 9yr old sort of area as we have a 9 year old boy (terror) who is worried that he might not have any new friens in France, and was hoping to be able to introduce him into the French way of things and maybe also helo him with the language a bit. He likes computer games, riding his bike and scooter and generally just playing an being a nuisance (but you have to love them).   It would be great and reassuring for him to know there are other English children nearby, even though it won't be too long before he has made friends with French children, but we are just trying to be gentle about the upheavel the poor little darling is going to go through.   many thanks   Alec

  18. Somehow I can't imagine serving bulls balls no matter how there cooked just doesn't appeal. any other recipe ideas would you like to share...
  19. When I say English Restaurant I only mean English food, the decor will be kept to a Frenchy style and the name I think should be something simple hopefully with a nice atmosphere and lots of custom.
  20. I was thinking of Le Rostbif......only kidding, I fancy a unique name maybe something a little humourous or maybe simple.
  21. Anyone got any ideas for a name
  22. Glad you liked my little suggestion, I also intend to put stuff like calf's liver salad, game pie and dishes with rabbit. I will also be doinf SUnday Roast or even carvery.
  23. Having just read these, they read alot like some of the scams that I have had in the email, you know the one where rich man in Nigeria wants to traasnfer some money to my bank account and as a result I will get a cut of it. Yeah right. If you look at the wording it is as if they have used google language tools to decipher from there mother tongue to English, which translation website do as a literal translation. As I have been doing quite a lot of French to English translation doing this it does look like this is definately the case. I would either just decline them or forward them to the Gendarme as I believ the people behind this are not so much after your rooms but your money.
  24. I was thinking along the lines of watercress and Stilton soup followed a sorbet then by Roast Pheasant with bread sauce and roasted seasonal vegetables, then bread and butter pudding or cheeseboard. Tea & coffee. I must admit I wouls stock to French Wines just because i prefer them, but its the cuisine that important.
