With XP it is easy to set up a couple of 'hotkeys' to enable you to change the keyboard layout between French and English, it helps to tap out all the keys when in the French mode so that you can printout where to find the accents and stuff but it does work and an Icon called 'language' will tell you the current setting, can become quite funny if you forget and you end up  ,qking q co,plete ,ess of your typing:::you see?  good luck Dave[:D]

Hi,      Dell.fr will let you configure exactly what you want, this includes a qwerty keyboard, OS in English and all other software. A friend of mine has had no problems with her new machine in the last 18 months but did have online support and tuition provided. They will howevr make you tick a box to say that you will not use your new Dell and it's software to create weapons of mass destruction.....honestly, at least beginning of 2005 they did. as Matchless said unless you are already a seasoned typist getting to grips with an azerty board will be no problem, I did see a guy back in the summer in Sarlat market selling a keyboard for non-typists that was simply laid out as ABCDEF  etc. best of luck Dave

Hi all,      after 3 months of arguments with Tiscali/Alice over the ADSL line that does not work I have negotiated with my attached neighbour and today we have thrown an Ethernet cable out of their window and in through ours and sucessfully and surprisingly easily created a local network and we now share her ADSL connection with no discernible degrading of downloads or uploads even when we are both working. We will one day I am sure route the cable properly but for now we are both happy to cut the cost of our ADSL in half. regards Dave[geek]

Any morning here in France watching the travel news on BBC 1, especially the M25 because we travelled on it every day. Sitting now in the silent evening listening to the birdsong through the open windows and occasionally having a house martin fly in through the open window to hang for a while in the room before exiting through the opposite window, yes Chris it certainly does it for me, far from the madding crowd[:)]

Just spoken to our neighbour and she said that the Spanish manager said something racist about Thierry Henry last year and Thierry is all fired up and also the talk is that tonight will be the last match for Zidane so he will also want to go out in a blaze of glory..if he can summon up the energy[:)] we'll see.
