  1. Well we are on Tempo also & our little box says we are red today so where did you get this 'blue' from?
  2. A new meaning to 'the hole in the wall' perhaps.
  3. Seems like not entering anything in box TL, as suggested on previous posts, did not a lot for you then! I am beginning to think that some Hotel des Impots staff are unaware of the E121 & its effect on CSG & CRDS.  It maybe a simple thing like E121 is mainly a Health entitlement & dealt with by the CPAM, not the local Tax Office.  I only say this because, in my case, sight of the E121 appeared to change the whole situation with exoneration of these payments. Good luck with your claim Mikew, FF[:D]
  4. Yes, have read this in other posts but as we were not too sure we actually took our tax forms to our Hotel des Impots who completed them for us with figures supplied by us.  We didn't actually put any amounts in any set boxes, we trusted them to know what they were doing which is the disappointing bit. I'm sure we are now much wiser & hear what you say. FF
  5. Further to my original post I seem to have won an argument with my local Hotel des Impots - after furnishing them with a copy of my E121 they agree that no CSG or CRDS Charges should have been paid on our pension income.  They have helped us fill out a 'reclamation' form which should see a repayment, eventually. It is interesting to note that on our first visit yesterday they were very vague about the subject & the lady said she knew nothing about any EU directive regarding E121 holders not being subject to these payments.  We were then asked to furnish a copy of our E121 which fortunately we had & returned today to do battle.  It seems the lady had done her homework overnight because this morning she agreed, without question, that due to the E121 we were disqualified from paying CSG & CRDS on our pensions & issued a repayment form for the last tax year. I only mention all this nausea because it may help other like persons on E121's receiving pension payments & being charged CSG & CRDS on them shouldn't be paying.  It also seems that you have to present your E121 to your local tax office to stand any chance of not being charged these Social Charges.  My thanks to replies & especially to Eleanor O'Kane, editor Living France, for her help in obtaining this result.[:)] It's still  raining in the Charente where we are [:(].  Freddie Frog
  6. Hello all, First post so be very tender & careful with me please!  Sorry if it has been done and done.  Moved to north charente from south coast 2004 with wife, daughter, son-in-law & grandson, now plus 2 more granddaughters, both born here in France - all loving every minute.  Have been reading posts for some time but thought it time I joined in. Wife & I are both on our own E121's having reached state retirement age in 2005.  The past 2 years we have had a bill for 'Social Charges' based on both our UK pension incomes.  Pensions are state, company & annuity but all generated in the UK.  Last year we challenged the Social Charge demand with our local tax office who simply said 'yes' you must pay it so we did.  Prior to & since then I'm sure I read on many posts on this subject that Social Charges are not payable on any pension income if you hold an E121. I think, with the help of experts, that this is indeed fact so I now intend to challenge our local tax office again on this matter & try to obtain 2 years refund (dreamland maybe) so if anybody has done this or can offer help I would love to hear from you.
