1. Hi folks .. I'm just filling one of these in ... and I need a bit of help with translating it ... below the section asking if I have services (road, water, electricity, sanition) of which I have everything ... there is then a section asking for details on the same services ...   Etat des equipements publics prevu la collective a-t-elle un project de realisation d'equipements publics desservant le terrain? Vorie Eau potable Assainissement Electricite Par quel service ou concessionnaire? Avant le     Can somebody tell me what this means please? Thanks very much
2. Mine are doing well so far ... fingers crossed.   Two of my sprouting broccolli have started to bolt though.  Soil is getting too hot for them ... mulching and extra watering can help prevent it.
3. I may have dreamed this ! .... but ..... I think there is a website which shows all of the Municipal campsites in the country, with contact details, etc.   Did I?  (dream it that is!) ... or can you tell me the website name?   Thanks!

lettuce seed

You can do it with F1 hybrids ... just don't expect them to be exactly the same as the mother plant.  But then again, it might be even better.  Might be rubbish.  Might be about the same.  Give it a try if it's an experiment and not your main source of the variety you want to grow.

lettuce seed

Indeed it  will.  You can do that same with root veg ... they will flower on the second year.
6. Well, I'm scuppered!  Although I have 8 acres, I'm not 500m from my neighbours. What a shame [:(]
7. I'm thinking about setting up my own bee hive.  Are there any legal restrictions or obligations, or can I go ahead and set up without permits, etc? I have a friend who kept bees for many years so I'll learn whatI need to know to fulfill the needs of the bees fully and safely.  Cheers [:)]
8. What is this called in French please?   (I really must learn better French!)
9. We installed a chauffe eau about six months ago and haven't had any problems until this afternoon.  I was doing some washing up and noticed that the hot water was of less than normal pressure (cold water pressure is fine).  The hot water in the shower is also of greatly reduced pressure. In fact, the kitchen hot water is now just a trickle. The pressure limiter on the chauffe eau is reading 3 bar, which suggests the pressure going into it is ok. Does this problem sound familiar with anybody ??  Advice greatly recieved. Thanks
10. Does anybody know if there are any legal requirements or beaurocracy involved in very small scale charity events?  I'm talking very small, like coffee/cake mornings, book and plant sales, etc ... in one's own house/garden. I would like to hold a few very small scale events in support of an animal rescue charity ... but I don't want to get myself folded up in all kinds of form filling, tax situations, etc.  I don't have a SIRET number or anything like that. Basically, all of the money raised would go straight to the charity, no costs etc would be deducted. If anybody has any facts or knowledge or similar experiences to share, I'd be most grateful [:D]
11. I'm quite aware I made a typo ... but if I correct it, the joke won't make any sense to readers later on.  What makes you think they're laughing at me rather than with me?  I think he was just making a joke based on a typing error.
12. I was just sitting on the settee and felt a tickle on my ear ... I brushed it and a big spider dropped onto my chest!  Now, I'm not phobic about spiders, but that is far too close for compfort.  Naturally I let out a shriek, ripped off my top of, dropped it on the floor and demanded husband to deal with it. "what is it" he asked "a big spider" I gulp.   So he starts laughing and saying he thought it was something serious.  He takes the garment out to let the spider into the garden, but comes back and says he can't see it.  A minute later I hear him shriek like a little girl ... the spider was on his neck.  Oh, how I laughed.  [:P]
13. Well, slightly funny, but I wouldn't say brilliant!  If anybody knows for sure, please let me know. Cheers folks and enjoy the weekend. [B]
14. Can anybody tell me if this is currently legal  please?  I thought it was, but a friend said there were signs at Limoges airport saying no. I've looked on DEFRA's website but can't find what I'm looking for. Thanks
15. So, do nothing then ... my kinda job!  [:D] Thanks
16.
However a French neighbour said try bits of broken glass.Apparently moles are Haemophiliacs and bleed to death.
What a vile action!  [:@]
17. It does make you feel good mooky.  There's nothing quite like eating food you've grown yourself.  It's fresh, almost free and has a very low carbon footprint - what more can you ask from your food.  [:D]
18. lettuce, beetroot leaves, rocket, courgette, carrot, thyme flowers, fennel fronds .... from garden to tummy in ten minutes  ....  [:D]    ...... will be eating the first of the Charlotte potatoes tonight too [:D] [:D] [:D]
19. Line paint trays with clingfilm before pouring paint into it , then when you've finished just fold the clingfilm in on itself and chuck away ... one less thing to clean. The best way I've found for cleaning rollers and paint pads is to scrape as much paint of as poss using an old knife or spoon, then hold under a SLOWLY running tap and clean and squeeze as the water trickles over it.  This way it takes one bowl full of water (which I then throw outside) instead of masses and masses of water.
20. I'm about to start creating a bathroom and there is one nice stone wall which I'd like to leave exposed.  What do I need to treat it with in order to keep it sound?  I've seen a product which seals outdoors brickwork, would that suffice. There's also a major structural beam which I'd like to leave partly exposed.  Again, what should I treat it with?  (I though marine varnish maybe) Thanks folks
21. Thanks Claire - you're the most helpful person I've ever "known" !!! [:D]
22. Does anybody make ganache?  I have seen a couple of recipes, one calls for double cream, one calls for whipping cream ..... what can I use that will make an acceptable alternative. I don't have the dried stuff that can be whipped into a cream in my local shops.  Would creme fraiche do the trick? It's for smearing around a chocolate cake.
23. Have you made the cake yet?  I have a lovely eggless chocolate cake recipe, I've made it loads of times ... let me know if you want it.    (here it is .....
24. Has anybody come across any cheap fly screens for doors and windows? I saw some cheapuns a while back and forget where!  They can be pretty expensive.
25. I know one should apply sunscreen about 20 mins before going into the sun, then again 20-30 minutes after going into the sunshine.  But does anybody know how often one should reapply it.  The manufacturers say "frequently" but they would wouldn't they, they want to to buy as much as possible! Is there anybody out there in the know as to how often one should reapply to protect skin.  I'm pretty pale (not ultra white, but pretty pale all the same) and I don't want to end up with leathery skin when I'm older!  [:P]  (or indeed anything nastier  [:(]  )
