  1. K, cheers...in fact, spoke to my maire today, he told me assisance to a max of 35% of the cost of construction (excl tva) can be possible, as long as the right steps are taken, and in the right order too. The "batiment" needs to be declared as a gite, not a chalet, then inspected and accepted by a gite organisation..(may have been gites de France), who then seem to aquire a lengthy control access ... Seems at a glance to be a potentiel can of worms..
  2. Thanks you 2 for your responses.. Russethouse...It depends on your location then?...I'm in the Cote d'or, near Dijon.     (have you recently changed your user name...? remember your photo from my 1st thread, so do you make that pottery then?) Cheers Hoddy, was unaware of that kind of help.. thought it came from the Conseil General.
  3. Hi forum fans, Would like to thank you all for your responses on my other thread in this section. I'm soon to be building a "chalet de loisirs" on my land, with sole use intended for tourism, weekly rentals. I heard a rumour and wondered, are any of you aware of state or community, or even tourist board financial assistance, or eventual %  re-emboursment, with the construction costs of this kind of project? regards to all...[;-)]
  4. K, thanks mate... The old "good accountant" issue.. seems to be the soloution for many things. Do you think if I ask an accountant if he's good or not, he will tell me the truth..lol
  5. K, got it.... so these jokers rarely show up! their intention is to con you out of a refund, for a cancelled, or over paid booking, right? Seems like the issue is the delay in clearing a foriegn cheque here in the French banks...
  6. Hello everyone, Please excuse my ignorance, but Iv'e read a few threads relating to "scams" and "moody bookings" from doctors for e.g. and various other types....from Scotland and Africa and all over... Could someone explain to me exactly whats going on please? It seems some people are making booking enquirys, for Gites and Chambres etc, with false info and details..... OK, can see that part of it. Question;   How exactly, and at what stage are these people ripping you off ?    Do they make a booking, actually show up and use the Gite/Chambre, for the time specified, then not pay? or pay with dodgy cheques or something?.....or is it a little more complicated than that? love to know what's going on,  regards to all,    A. fish with a scar.
  7. Thanks Nick, Thats along the lines of what I heard really, but, what is "supply something" actually defined as then?   supply a service maybee? Iv'e seen another reference since, in an article published in English, on another site, that suggests upto 76,300 Euros if it's classed as a "trading commerce".... how would that translate into a business category in French? Cheers
  8. Looking for a bit of advice, cher Forum users.... As I understand it, apparently, with business activities classed as "Location loisirs" it is possible to turn over upto around 75k per year without having to pay any TVA! Here's the tricky bit......Is it possible for a an existing business registered as micro entreprise, who's principal and only activity is within this "location loisirs" category, to legally exceed the turn over limits of the micro-bic regime, and avoid paying TVA? Key point being the principal and only activity! as Iv'e heard it's not possible, because it has been already registered in this way.
  9. Thanks for responding Nick.. Yes I understand that these two options are completley different... but as I'm expecting to surpass the limits of the micro-bic next year, and as explained to me by an accountant, I have the choice of going with the bic (reel) regime and just paying  taxes and contributions based on the new income, or starting a company(Eurl). What I would like to know is what is the wiser move... what would be more benificial financially for me, i.e avoiding as much tax as possible? would I get clobbered for the tax if I don't go for a societe (eurl)? I suppose it also depends on the nature of your business to a degree? Bon Noel, by the way fella..
  10. Digging up an old thread a bit I suppose....do apologise for that, but, It's right on the subject that happens to be bothering me at the moment. I've read all the comments made, and it's very interesting. But I'm left with a question about the correct move to make for someone who is currently "micro-bic" and needs to change registration because of a pre-viewed higher income. As I understand, there is an option to move from the "micro-bic" to a "bic-real" status, or to form a societe EURL,( the SARL option does not actually concern my own case). The EURL set up has been fairly well explained already in this thread, but not the other option of resting with the "bic" but exceeding the income limit of the micro, and becoming as my accountant termed it, "bic-reel".  The Question;  So in your opinions, what are the negative points of just remaining BIC, compared to going for the EURL? (Shame life has to be so complicated really is'nt it....)
  11. Sorry Cathy... it's a big.....black.....4x4... and not I imagine anyway, thought of as cheap, couple of years old..! But thanks to all for the comments so far forum fans... Spent the evening reading through the other threads..  good forum..lots of subjects covered..
  12. Hello to all forum users...i'm new. Just a question first of all, I imagine it's not allowed to advertize a car for sale here on the forum.? Does anyone know of an effective way to advertize a RHD vehicle here in France, where it would be seen by lots of ex- pats? (as I can't imagine a French person wanting a conduite a droit!). Probably a common question, so sorry if thats the case..
