  1. Back in '98 my partner and myself moved to France and bought a house in my name and had a baby, there.Because my partner had other children taken from her in the UK by the social services. After about 2 years my partner disappeared with the child.I eventually found out through the French equivalent of the social services, that they were supporting her but they wouldn't divulge where she and the child was because she had told them "I would harm them".  I decided not to fight through the courts, for access as the task was just to daunting. And I know access is almost imposible to enforce,if the mother is in denial. So I returned to the UK as there was no point staying in France with no family or job.  My question is,which I appreciate is a difficult one;the CAF (the French equivelant of the UK CSA) was chasing me for maintenance even though I was living back in the UK.(which they knew).I'm sure this is unlawful as it's not in their Jurisdiction.Although they did manage to empty my French bank account of 700euroe.I did have some contact with a French lawyer but her advice wasn't to helpful and would of only complicated the matter,no doubt so she could charge me a fee.   I would really be interested to hear from anyone with a similar experience.
