  1. I  would guess the terrestrial aerial booster on the aerial is powerd from a power supply in your house, therefore the power ( usually 12-24 v) is sent from the power supply to the booster on the aerial along the normal co-ax cable , you say you have added a sat/ tv coupler to attach your dish to the same cable ,  if you have added the coupler  it will seperate the sat/tv signals and re mix them at the TVsat socket in your house BUT the satellite receiver also supplies a14/ 18 v power as well as a 22khz band switching signal to the LNB on the dish  . it does not matter  which side of the aerial amplifier the tv/ sat coupler goes that particular systen cannot work as there is a conflict of voltages  , the only way to resolve the problem is to have the power supply for the aerial at the aerial end and diplexor(coupler) fitted before the amplifier power supply,  this would mean a mains feed to the aerial  external power supply ( probably not a good idea ) the best way out is a seperate cable to the dish from the sat receiver    .   30 m  of proper satellite cable should not give you any loss problems  martin  http://www.orbit-calpe.com soon comming to france
  2. My wife and I are hoping to move to the Aubusson area soon , and I am looking to set up as a satellite installer ( A job I have been doing for 20 years or more)I am also a fully C+G qualified TV Repair technician ,  I realise I am not going to make a fortune but a reply to my post on another forum  has worried me somewhat ,  the reply was "The other Creuse business people out there would know better than me, but also wouldn't you have to satisfy the chambre de metiers that there was a call for your business? They might be protective of the existing two installers if there isn't much work to go round? Starting a business in France is a minefield. Maybe the others could comment on this." I was under the impression that an eu national could set up a micro enterprise without a problem, it may work or fail but the CMA could not reject it  as there were others already doing it .  any comments greatfully received
  3. Thanks for that , waiting in anticipation .
  4. And of course road tax on  2 motorbikes + 1 car , my question realy is  as I see it we have two options , I can hopefully start a micro enterprise doing sat / tv/ electronics repairs  like here , or we can register the b+b as a micro enterprise , I dont see either making too much money for a while  but is there a way I can set up say the sat buisness and have the b+b ( only 3 letting rooms ) as an added  form of income  paying one lot of cotisations  ?
  5. 1200 euros every 3 months in tax+ vat irrespective if whether ive taken it or not  + 12 monthy ss payments which go towards pension / health care thats the total if I earn more its mine to keep
  6. Hi , My wife , daughter(25) and myself are hoping soon to be buying a property that was run as a b+b near aubusson , I have been running a legitimate satellite installation TV/ electronics repair buisness on the Costa Blanca for the last 18 years and now feel the time is right for a change , is there a way I can start in France as a sat installer , and my wife run the b+b , probably more as a hobby and way of meeting people than a money earning operation , without incurring  huge social security and social charges , I am used to paying roughly 7600 euros per year in ss, tax and vat payments before making anything in Spain ,  will France enable me to be better or worse off ? Any help or info from anyone who has made the move  from Spain, or works in the b+b or electronics /satellite trade would be gratfully received .   orbit  spain
