  1. The increase in cotisations has exercised my mind for a couple of days now, so I have checked my own financial records : the increase actually arises from the fact that in 2005, there was an abatement (allowance) of 20% applied to Gross Income, which had the effect of reducing the taxable income substantially, and consequently the Revenue Fiscale de Référence. The balance was then taxed at the prevailing rates for the various tax bands. However, in 2006, this abatement was removed, and the income tax rates lowered to compensate for the consequent increase in Taxable Income - hence very little change in the amount of Income Tax payable. HOWEVER, this also meant that the RFR was increased, along with every charge calculated on it - like the cotisation!
  2.   Situation   ---  Existing  CMU subscriber in excess of 5 years and resident since  July 2001.                          Letter from  Narbonne (Aude)  dated 11/1/08 terminating CMU at end of March 2008.  Appeal lodged by Email and registered letter sent to Narbonne  & Carcassonne  immediately  which has yet to be acknowleged let alone answered.
  3. The Aude have just sent us information that they are going to charge us 25% more than before.  Last two quarters fees.   This equates to   ---         RFR - 8644 Euro x 10% Would br interested to find out other's experiences.
  4. Like many others the last communicaion (Jan 08) from CPAM  was that our cover would end 31/3/08 even though we know we qualify through being in the CMU as at 30/11/07, having been resident in excess of five years and through acute illness. We would like to know if possible of any persons qualified to enjoy cover in the CMU  --  AUDE have had notification of continued cover beyond 31/3/08. Thankyou   Jalan
  5. Claire It may have been simpler if I had said nothing at all.   I didn't want to interpret the article as I've seen enough of that on various websites and I have urged people to wait for officialdom.  I only decided to answer you because of another explanatory Email. and of course because you asked the question. I hope the article proves to be true and that those people in need of serious medical attention can continue to benefit from a truly wondzrful heath service.
  6. Clair      Many pages are devoted to it and my understanding (the whole statement is very clear) is that IF you are in the system as at end of November  07 then you remain in the system.  If not then you're unlucky.    My interest is mainly as an    "inactif   retired"  below age qualification for the E121 with illnesses to both  my wife and I (diagnosed after arrival in France) that are uninsurable. There is also an interesting article on "Dependencies" when one family member reaches E121 qualification.
  7. I suspect that the announcement will probably be made by the French government w/c 26/11/07.  I urge people to wait for that but it appears that The Connexion have a "source" and are making best use of their knowledge for the benefit of their paper. I wouln't blame them for that.
