  1. Thanks for such a quick response, David.
When I looked at previous forms, I couldnt understand why I had filled it all in like that.
It is quite scary when you don't really understand what you are doing and, thankfully, our affairs are relatively simple - just pensions and minimal interest!

I will just use the 260.
    Thanks again.

  2. Hi
I can't find the thread where David gave info about putting UK interest on line 260 on 2047K.
Sorry to repeat - in the past I have put the total of the UK interest on line 233 then repeated on line 252 (2TR), then again on 260 (2TR)! (as per the line numbers on this year's form).

I must have got the info off the forum before but now I wonder if I should only put it on line 260 (2TR) ... and then tick 2OP on 2042!

As I said, it's like painting by numbers, but more stressful.
    Would appreciate clarification, thanks.

  3. Thank you for all the questions and answers above which I have checked against my own forms.
It's like painting by numbers, trying to fill in the same boxes every year and hoping it is right.  The big one is ticking the 2OP this year - thank you for that pointer, David.

  4. I've just had another look at the forms.

2047K says to report in 2TR on 2042K which (as David says) is still the default.

Do we still have to put the amount over into 2TR but tick 2OP as well, or do we leave 2TR blank and just tick 2OP?

  5. Thanks David for the tip and translation. I wouldn't have picked up on the 2OP and it applies to us also.

I also looked on 2042K for the8SH and8SI and as I couldn't find them, decided just to fill in 2042K as normal with the bit about not being 'a la charge' to the French social security system

Am always grateful to read other people's queries and tips for filling in the form.

  6. Thanks. Have now registered with Ameli. I suppose the clue was that they asked for 'nom'. We assume that means full name but they mean just 'surname' which worked. I thought I would be able to download the attestation immediately but it seems you have to wait 8 days for a letter with a code. Just as well we are getting organised in plenty of time before RV. Tks MrsB.
  7. I'm glad it's not just me. My OH said to ring the number but I was trying to avoid that! I had put I the name in every combination but will try surname only.. It would only accept 13 numbers anyway, not the final two, and I had put in the date for the dob. It obviously recognised the name and number for it to come up with almost the correct dob for both me and OH. I shall have another go. Thanks MrsB
  8. Mrs Black

I saw you registered on Ameli to get the attestation du droits. I have been trying desperately to create an account but it keeps saying one of the 'champs' is incorrect. I have checked time and again and the name, number, dob, postal code are all correct for both myself and OH but it keeps saying something is incorrect.

    Am I missing something obvious?

I can't see a way of emailing them to ask unless I first have an account? If I had the account, I wouldn't need to email them! grrrr

  9. Hi ET

Can I ask if Alencon were asking for 5 years' bank statements or just one per 6 months? I have written to them but no response (they were prompt replying to me in 2017 and 2018 saying the CdeS was not necessary but now haven't replied). CA suggested some Prefectures only wanted 1 every 6 months. Also, someone who has just got their CdeS from Alencon said that some people were only supplying P60's but she didn't know if (after their RV) they were subsequently asked for more info and we don't want to have to go in again.

We saw plenty of slots when we applied to go in early March but that also may have changed.
  10. Thanks for that - we are also Alencon. I had thought it was a proper interview from what I had read from various contributors but since the initial RV is only 15 minutes, decided it must be just to drop in the dossier.

We are only just applying as I had previously written to the Prefecture on two occasions (2017 and 2018) asking if we could apply for a CdeS and they had said it was not necessary and would not afford us any rights after 29 March. However, it seems they subsequently amended that in the light of govt directives.

  11. Hi Wb

I didn't realise you had to have TWO appointments. I thought the RV made on line was to receive and check the papers and then you either got the card in due course or had to supply more information.  Am I reading it wrong?

From your email (I know the Prefectures are different), it sounds as if the first one is just to deposit the papers.  Is the second one a more 'in detail' interview?

  12. Like you, am finding out the process as I go along.  Found out from CA today that I can run off any statements I want (for the last 10 years) which will have name and address on.  He told me where to find it on their site. However, the helpful chap at CA told me to check with the relevant Prefecture before running off 5 years' of monthly statements as some Prefectures are only asking for one every six months.  He said that was what some of their other clients had told them so I have written to the Prefecture to clarify that.

  13. Hi

Can I just ask about bank statements -I understood that the P60's and confirmation of  letter of increase from DWP were sufficient to prove income.  All our bank statements are online as we are paperless and I can run off 5 years' worth if necessary.  However, the statements online have my name but not my address and I wonder if that is sufficient?

How are others managing with the statements online?

We were going to wait until 29 March to see what they required but think we should get moving on it now, even if the new requirements are something different.

MyOH has been here for over the 5 years but I have only been here for 4+ so am hoping the permanent will be granted.

    Thanks

  14. Thanks for that. I read the link. We are not under the marital regime Communaute de Biens but Separation de Biens (English) and I think I am reading that documents testamentaires have to be produced in other cases, on death, which I presume is through the Notaire?  Maybe I have misread that but think that is what it is saying.

However, I shall print off the link and have another go. It can't do any harm to put us both on the Carte Grise and may well be enough to simplify the matter when  required.

  15. I did just that, put my OH onto my carte grise at the time of the initial French registration so that he could transfer it easily to his name in the event of my demise without going through the Notaire (so I thought).

However, when I tried to subsequently add my name to his carte grise at the Prefecture (when it was done there) the person behind the desk told me it made no difference, in that it still had to go through the inheritance procedure with the Notaire and get the permission of his son and she gave me a 3-page green form which would have to be completed.

Therefore, I didn't bother at that time but I wonder if it has been simplified for the co-titulaire?

Has anyone easily transferred it to the co-titulaire in those circumstances?

It would make things a whole lot easier for at least the vehicles and it is a good idea to sort out what you can in advance when you are clear thinking.

I should have asked the Notaire last time we were there.

  16. We looked just about everywhere and the prices varied dramatically.

In the end we bought floor tiles from Brico Cash which were priced mid-range and seem good quality (so far, down 2 years). They were 9mm thick. We are very happy with them.

We have bought 3 lots of wall tiles from Brico Depot which are excellent for the price. Also very happy with those.

It really depends what you are prepared to spend. We had a big floor area to tile so were price driven for a reasonable quality.

I second buying extra boxes to get the same batch, which Brico Depot will happily take back if unopened. We discovered with Brico Depot that if we had their Loyalty Card, we had 3 months to take anything surplus back which we have done with other things.

  17. I wrote to the Prefecture at Alencon last year and was told that I did not need one, and one would be of no use anyway after Brexit. As I had read that we were entitled to one anyway, I did follow up asking them what I would need to do if I did want to apply for one. They sent the same reply back. After a third email to them, they just did not reply.

I did go in personally and asked the lady on reception if she could tell me who I should see or speak to in order to get information, and was blanked again. In the end, I decided to just wait and see what they ask for if and when everything is sorted.

As you say, it would be good if the Prefectures were consistent.
