  1. Certainly Mint, it is Montpellier, of which I have had excellent service over the years and always communicated by email.
  2. Emailed my local tax office on Monday regarding the avis for social charges that I had been levied for, for the last 2 years, although because they were less than 61 Euros were not collected. Had a reply back today informing me that a new amended tax demand would be sent out showing no social charges. Good result, even though I don't pay them because of the amount, but you never know, next year the interest rates could soar!!!!!!
  3. Thanks to all for that info. will get a tester just to be sure.
  4. I have a 12volt tyre inflator but the connection into the cigar lighter is broken. However I have a similar lead from a car kettle that is obsolete so I cut that off and intended to join it onto the trye inflator lead. Unfortunately the leads from the old kettle are blue and brown whilst the leads from the tyre inflator are both black but one has a white stipe. Does it matter which leads join onto which?
  5. Thank you andy, point taken. Just checked out Investec but their minimum deposit is £25000, not exactly what I had in mind!!
  6. Thanks for all the replies, will have a look at Investec as it is a simple easy access savings account I am after.
  7. There seems to be a plethora of new Banks opening, or about to open in the UK. I am still trying to open an account with one as I have been refused by my Bank to open up another savings account even though I have been with them for nearly 20 years. Any ideas please?
  8. We have some Swedish friends who are in the process of selling their holiday home to an aquaintance in Sweden, but are not involving a Notaire here in France. Not sure if they are involving a Swedish legal person, but it appears everything is being done in Sweden. I was under the impression that a Notaire had to be involved, if only to collect Capital Gains Tax and to change the Taxe Foncier and D'habitation. Is this situation possible or even legal?
  9. Just noticed the other thread re Channel 5!! It is suggested to rescan, but we have Sky and Freesat so can't rescan Freesat but how do you rescan the Sky box, surely it does it automatically. Sorry to be so ignorant on these matters, I just want to watch the Test Match highlights!!!!!
  10. Trying to watch Channel 5 Highlights and Channel 5 +1 for the Test match but cannot receive either, very pixelated and a real bum, any suggestions
  11. The last few days here in the Herault we have experienced temperatures up to nearly 40C and coincidently we have suffered break up in reception of signal on Sky and also FreeSat. It is now 7.00pm Saturday and the temperature is still 34C and it is impossible to watch the Canadian Grand Prix qualifying due to massive pixalisation so should I accept that the hot weather is causing the problem or should I look at the LNB.
  12. Thank you so much for all the replies, we have experienced economy class for several years now and dread the in flight arguments regarding the seat being pushed back or having to be woken because someone needs to go to the toilet etc etc so  we have opted for a bit of luxury. Yes, of course it is expensive but our philosophy is that enjoy it while you can, who knows what the following year will bring ,we may not be able to make it at our age, not having every experienced this little bit of luxury and we are so looking forward to it.........isn't that the way to look forward to a 30 hour flight!!!! Lie flat beds and champagne on demand.......WOW.
  13. Quillan Thank you for that reply, I too have seen all their contact points. I was hoping that someone may have had first hand experience of said Lounges and could pass their views on!!!
  14. Thinking about popping over to New Zealand again for a couple of months after Christmas and having for the past few years travelled Economy I fancy spending a lot more and depleting the meagre savings account by going Business Class. Checking on Cathay Pacific web sites I note that if travelling in that Class you are entitled to visit their Lounges, which for us would be Heathrow, Hong Kong and Auckland. However I cannot find any reference to the meals or drinks served in the Lounges being complimentary. Could someone enlighten me please.
  15. Received only Tax Form 2047K this morning, presumably the other form 2042 will be sent separately?
  16. OK, thanks all for the advice, I will probably in the light of comments made just disconnect the battery. AnOther you really must get that software sorted!!!!! As an aside I have just come across a web site called Cornish Pasties n.z. Husband and wife left Cornwall few years back and set up a Cornish Pasty making shop and bakery in Cambridge, New Zealand, which is very near where I am going. I am going to be in heaven for 2 months. Just had a thought.....wonder if they call them cornish pasties being a protected species and all!!!!!!!
  17. I shall be popping (ha ha) across to New Zealand for Jan and Feb so the trusty Kangoo will have to stay in the garage unattended. I would welcome advice on what steps it would be prudent to take beforehand. For example, do I need to disconnect the battery and/or keep it on trickle charge, is there really any need to jack up the axles to alieviate tyre flat spots? Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks
  18. Apologies for not knowing what all the fuss is about!! If there are queues on the motorway because of thousands of people shopping and unfortunately it is difficult getting to whereever then surely that proves there is a need, albeit in the minds of those who go shopping. I used to work shift work and the only time I could get out with my family was when I had a Sunday off. Who should dictate when some other person wants to go shopping, there should be a free choice, at least in this growing secular age and a free choice to work to satisfy that need.
  19. Credit Agricole Languedoc Had the message once, pressed plus tard and don't get it any more!!!!
  20. Sorry, totally confused, not difficult I know, but what on earth is all this about?
  21. Q Thanks for that, I actually removed all the apps I had downloaded and thus far it seems (!!!!!) to be working alright, so I shall now download them again one at a time and see what happens. Presumably update 5, is it called Lollipop ?, will come along soon naturally so will wait until then, I have a horrible failing that to force an update will be my undoing!!!! Pity I'm having trouble as it is a great piece of kit, when it works, and I shall be taking it to New Zealand for Jan & Feb so will be relying on it.
  22. Quillan Thanks for that, but at the moment I am, along with thousands of others worldwide, pulling hair out after the 4.4.4 update will not allow me to authenticate and connect to the internet. Google remain very silent on this common issue!!!!!!
  23. Quillan Unfortunately not all tablets support Chromecast. For example my 2012 Nexus7 will not although all other Nexus do!!
  24. Just the opposite for me. Went to Beziers couple of months ago to register a Volkswagon CC bought in UK. Beforehand I had sourced a CoC from Germany and also a French language one. Arrived at Beziers and was told immediately that I didn't want any of those bits of paper as the UK V5 was sufficient!! Nice surprise though.
