They are called 'tirants' or 'entretoise'

We use two suppliers in Limoges,  Reyaud (behind LeClerc) and De L'ouest at the other end of ZI nord (just off second roundabout past Mr Bricolage) Reynauds slower (14 days) and slightly more expensive but can do thin units 14mm.  Also toughened can take months. De L'ouest are quicker and cheaper, about 6-7days including toughend units but min thickness is 24mm
