1. Sounds lovely Geronimo, do they get a big grin or a little grin   [8-|][:D]    Love curry myself, unfortunately not many fresh herbs grow up here in the Western Isles, they get blown away, [:P]   but when back over in France, try to cook with as many fresh herbs as I can.

I'm so sad ...

Frenchie Am just awake after finishing a 12 hour night watch at 0800 this morning, the wind was howling round the building, blowing a severe gale force 9, very noisy, very cold, came home with a splitting headache,  the photo of Platon is the first thing I saw, and it put a smile on my face, he looks so relaxed and happy,  so glad, what a fighter, thank you for posting the photo. Big hugs to you all

7. Was born in the highest village in the Highlands of Scotland, can remember going to school in the winter, walking (OK, climbing), out of the top bedrom window, donning snowshoes and walking to school......loved it, but then, when you are a child, nothing seems to phase you, does it!    [8-|]

I'm so sad ...

Frenchie   My heart goes out to you & your son, yes, you will know the time when it comes, but that does not make it any easier, Platon has  been your companion for so many years, always there to listen when problems seemed to be at their worst, he offered unstinting love & loyalty and was your strength when you needed it. Now he needs your strength, & I know you will not fail him. Be strong Frenchie.   We are all thinking of you   Big hugs Jinty

I'm so sad ...

Frenchie, I am so sorry to hear about your poor cat, but just think what a good, happy, loving life he has had with you and your son.. I had the same problems with my little Yorkshire Terrier, sadly she died of a massive heart attack, my husband & I felt that someone had reached into our hearts and ripped them out. I know how painful the decision is to put him down, but remember, he will let you know when he wants to go, he will just float peacefully off to sleep with you cuddling him, what better way to go. Be strong, Frenchie, the emptiness does go away & you will remember all the good times, my heart goes out to you and your son. Big hugs
17. Those poor people, those poor animals, I am sitting here in tears, how absolutely unbearable, and over something that could be prevented if people would look after their dogs properly, my heart goes out to everyone.
18. www.charlesmacleod.co.uk   Hello, I stay in Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, the above firm is well known and deliver all over the world. Their black puddings are world renowned, may be worth a try, they do send stuff all over the place.
19. Hello, reasonably new to this forum, loved looking at all your photo's, I will try and post the view from our house in France, not sure if it will work though, my computer skills are scratchy to say the least.....
20. Hello there Lovely photo, possibly a Speckled Wood butterfly!!  Not sure what the bottom one is though.
21. Alan & Pat, many thanks for your advice & concern, unfortunately, due to work commitments it is impossible to attend the final signing, much as we would both love to. The Notaire does have an excellent reputation, and the estate agent is also excellent and has become a good friend. She does keep us right as she is English but with excellent French as she has stayed in France for over 30 years.  She is also a near neighbour of the vendor, we have met him and he really is a lovely man, we have no worries about the buying process. The only thing concerning us was the letter from the Notaire suddenly springing the change of date & the translation. Ah well, will just have to wait & see.
22. Sorry Nick, just wanted clarification that what the Notaire was doing was the norm, many thanks
23. Thank you P-D de Rouffignac, that helps enormously, we did inform the Notaire over a month ago that we would not be attending the final signing, we have not had any reply from them until now, despite quite a few emails.   Many thanks, will get moving now and do what needs to be done.
24. Hello   This is my first posting, I am a complete newbie.....OH & I are in the process of buying a house in Dept 36, final signing was supposed to be on Monday 17th Sep, at least, this is the date the Estate Agent told us, the Vendor also thought it was on the 17th,   just received this from the Notaire, the first ever piece of communication from them:   The completion of the property will be in the 24th September, because, we are obliged to send you a translation of the act of selling with the power of attorney. This translation has a cost of 350 Euros. Please send me your agreement as soon as possible, and I could ask for the translation and send it to you, Your Estate Agent can represent you for the completion. We received this yesterday, Friday the 14th September at 1300. have searched all over the forum & other places, and cannot seem to find an up to date answer, could not get a reply at the Notaires,  can anyone help please
