  1. Hi I am sure this has been talked about endlessly and I have read the threads but I am still unclear. I would love someone to clarify some points. When you are able to turn the phone off does that mean you do not pay for the line rental during the period of suspension? I have looked at the Orange tarifs and it gives E16 as the basic. I cannot see phone and internet together. I have read that you can stop the internet too. Looking forward to getting my head around this! Many thanks
  2. Hi Chris Many thanks for the info.  We have just been given a quote for the encloture system.  Does it look ok?  It looks fine on all their pics but we have not been able to see a real 'live' version.  It also seems very easy to self assemble.  Thanks again for the help.
  3. Hi Everyone We are looking to install a fence around our pool and have found a reasonably priced version at Gedimat called Protect-a Pool which is a lightweight type of fence.  Has anyone used this product and how effective, easy to install is it?  We were wondering if you are able to install it into the ground with the use of dirt spikes or whether you have to concrete the posts in.  Any help would be much appreciated. Perhaps there is another product which is an alternative - we are on a very strict budget!  Thanks.
  4. We too have used them in the U.K and ended up with blocked everything and uneven paint.  Can you remember where you bought the compressor from?  Thanks for your help.
  5. Thanks Nick and M.  Have cheered OH up hugely and he is now looking forward to our impending visit!  Weilding a spray painter rather than a paint brush sounds far more appealing!  Fingers crossed[;-)]
  6. Thanks for that - have you ever used one?
  7. Hi, we need help, please!  The internal walls of our property are covered in crepie type stuff and a real pain to paint.  Having completed all of the top floor we are rapidly losing the will to continue downstairs.  OH has decided that using a paint compressor/sprayer is the way forward.  Does anyone know of a place that perhaps we could hire one?  We are situated near Mielan/Mirande in the Gers.  I guess another option would be to buy one.  Any help, tips and potential trouble shooting would be greatly appreciated!  Many thanks
  8. Here, here Tegwini!  Lets not forget what a fantastic rugby world cup this has been and I'm sure Sat will produce an equally great final.  I am from S.A and hubby from U.K - may the best team win![:D]
  9. Thank you so much.  We will brave a new route.  Best of both worlds..............sounds wonderful - enjoy!  Lovely to chat to you.[:)]
  10. Hi Its a small world!  It reassuring to know that it is possible in about 10 hours.  As its half-term and we only have limited time we have decided to do it in one.  We have a house in Mielan so a bit further on and have done the journey home in one day and it really is a killer especially from Folkstone to Shropshire.  Once you have gone through Rouen do you go Evreux down to Chartres and then A10/A71/A20?  How long have you had a place in Montreal du Gers?  Have often stayed at Chateauroux in Premier Classe and find it an ideal stopping point for the journey.  Close to the Autoroute so very convenient.  Hope you have a lovely time.  Thanks for the reply.[:)]
  11. For some reason we have always gone through Paris, or rather round it, but our last jouney during the summer was a total nightmare and took us 2 hours!  That coupled with the fact that I am sure 60% of Britian will be heading to Paris on Friday we were very keen to find an alternative.  That's one beast of a cow - thanks for the peek preview!  Kids will love it. Thank you for the info.
  12. Thank you so much for the instructions.  We eagerly await arriving at the "cow roundabout", not something you can miss!  Much more fun than negotiating Paris.  Thanks again
  13. Hi would love some help.  We are travelling to our house in the Gers on Friday and, after the wonderful rugby result on Saturday, are now looking to avoid Paris and travel via Rouen.  I am sure I read somewhere that you have to go through Rouen and not around it.  If this is the case could someone let me know how easy it is to navigate.  We do have SAT NAV, something my husband swears is fail safe, but I still like to know where I am heading!  Many thanks.
  14. Hi Toni - thanks again.  Have had a good look at previous discussions and we have pretty much decided that a pool cover will be a good investment.  The alarms are obviously a real pain and I guess are a cheap alternative.  As ever, we continue to 'live and learn'!
  15. Hi - guess I should have been more specific!  Have a pool alarm at present but it appears to be very sensitive and goes off loads bugging our poor neighbours to death!  We definitely need a cover for the winter once we shut the pool down but weren't sure if it would be more cost effective to get one of the roller covers to use in winter and summer as security and get rid of the alarm.  Our pool is 12 x 6 (which is lovely when swimming!) but is obviously going to cost a bit to cover.  Thanks again for all your help - its great to have found this forum.  Will search the forum too.
  16. Thanks very much for that - have had a quick look and able to understand some of it.  Would still appreciate more help if possible.  Many thanks.
  17. Hi - wondered if anyone could help, please!  Have recently bought a house in Gers with a pool which needs a cover for winter.  Does anyone know where we can purchase one?  Also, has anyone had one of those seemingly very expensive all-year-round covers fitted?  Are they worth the money and any ideas on cost and a local company to supply/fit one?  Many thanks.
