  1. Last year a kind tax man (yes there are some LOL) filled our forms in for us at the Centre d'Impots.   He asked us if we had anything to offset against the tax, eg. children, house improvements etc. and he put down (somewhere) that we were paying contributions to URSSAF.   I'm going to attempt to complete the forms on line this year, but can't seem to see where we would put down for the contributions to URSSAF.   Do you total it up and put what was paid for the entire year?
  2. Today I trooped off to my local CPAM armed with change of address forms etc. plus letter from old CPAM stating that our rights would not be terminated at the end of March. We've been down this road before, so we'll see what correspondence comes next..............I live in hope it will be sorted out satisfactorily. Thanks again to everyone at FHI for their help and advice.
  3. Marvellous, merci beaucoup vous a tres gentil
  4. Does anyone who has issued one have some text I could use to cancel my health insurance, as stated in the beginning of the thread it's not going to be sent out by the insurance company until 20/4 but is due to restart from 01/05? thanks Clair as always
  5. many thanks, its strange that the renewal notice hasn't yet been sent out (but I am told it will be around the 20/4) but is due for renewal on 01/05.
  6. I apologise if this has been discussed before, I couldn't find it on the search. When cancelling an insurance contract under the "loi chatel" clause, is there any specific words that one should use, e.g. quote a "under terms & conditions Section 4b, of the act dated.....?". I need to get my letter ready now. Many thanks
  7. In my parameters page I have Activation du serveur DHCP   Adresse IP LAN     Masque de sous-réseau     Début de la plage DHCP     Fin de la plage DHCP In my connexion sans fil I have Nom de la livebox (SSID) : Mode : bgb+g Choix du canal : Automatique12345678910111213 Canal actif: 6 Clé de sécurité : Mode de sécurité : Pas de sécuritéWPA-PSKWEPWPA2-PSK Option de sécurité : TKIPAES Activer l'installation WiFi facile In the Liste des équipements WiFi appairés I have nothing in the following box (even though I already have a laptop which is WiFi enabled. In the WiFi page I have the following details WiFi activé 1 Statut WiFi Up Adresse MAC WIFI de la Livebox 00:18:E7:23:00:6F Débit wifi (radio) Auto Canal 6 Nom de la livebox (SSID) Livebox-B270 Clef WEP   Index de la clef WEP 1 Is there something in this list that needs to be changed to allow a second WiFi?  The adresse MAC  WIFI number is not the same as the MAC number on my livebox but would it be the number of my Laptop MAC - sorry I am a numpy nuts regarding all these installation numbers Thanks
  8. Thank you for that answer Steve, I've tried what you suggested (many times in the last 3 weeks) to no avail. Could you explain what you mean about going into the security settings please?   By that I mean what do I look for, and what do I change if necessary?   I took the dongle to a computer shop today, they tested it and said it was ok as his machine picked up the wifi ok. Back to square one[:'(]
  9. Through the manual install I've put the WEP key in, exactly as on the livebox but then it tells me that the key is wrong, so I try again and still the same happens! France Telecom were ever helpful - not - the guy said we must ring 3900 for help - we've tried this several times, over and over again and haven't been able to speak to anyone yet.   He understood this, but refused to replace the dongle (or refund it) in case it's not working. So, still frustrated and very fed up as I've wasted a morning now when I could have been in my garden!
  10. I've tried to install the dongle via the main PC which is usually connected to the Livebox via an ethernet.   I still have the same problems it is just not "associating". To try manually via the XP programme it's picking the dongle up, picking up the livebox ok - it asks for the name of the SSID and then it asks for a network key, which I don't know so I can't go any further forward with this either. Off to FT this morning to see if they have a solution.
  11. Thanks to everyone for your replies, especially Cooperlola.   All I can say at the moment is that I am waiting on the CPAM English line to phone me back (hopefully tomorrow) and I will contact CLEISS tomorrow morning, I managed to get through today but was told to phone again tomorrow. We definitely cannot get cover via the UK system, we already tried this a year ago to no avail. Believe me if we could, we would!   It's not for want of trying, and even here in France we want to pay,  we  are not trying to dodge the system but as yet it seems our situation is not under any particular category and is somewhat unusual to the French authorities. Hopefully another offshore worker might see our plight and offer some advice. Going back to my original posting, I keep asking myself how last year, with everyone else we were classed as inactifs (hence not allowing us to stay in the sytem) because we didn't work in France yet now, we are Actif - but because not working for a French organisation we are still being penalised.  Where is the sense in that I'll post back when/if I get some answers and any further suggestions are gratefully received.
  12. Further to other posts on the health pages, like a lot of people, that following the government announcement in December we believed our continuation in the CMU would be ok.  We've been in the system since April 07. We've changed Depts. since this announcement, but have still received information from the old dept. that we could remain in the system. However our new Dept (24) are refusing us on the grounds that my partner is NOT inactif (he is a Mariner which is a complicated issue in itself).    The CPAM in Dept 24 have even gone so far as saying that the previous Dept got it all wrong and should never have allowed us to join the CMU because OH gets a salary and it's only for people who are not working. They're quoting the documentation that says anyone in the system before Nov 07 can remain in the system, BUT only if they are inactif, students, etc.    They don't seem to have a category for people who are in the same situation as us. Is there anyone else out there with similar problems, I would be interested to know if so, and whether you have managed to overcome the difficulties
  13. Thank you for your detailed reply RJP.   I don't know if Inventel is the same as the Thomson Livebox (mini) which we have?   On going through the pairing" stage, and pressing the WiFi button on the Livebox, this still did not resolve the problem.  I am not sure if this is the button you mention?  There are a couple of grey buttons on the side, one is a Reboot one is a WiFi and hidden away there is also a Reset button.  I've learned from experience that if you press the Reset button, you have to completely reinstall everything again. On packing up the new dongle back into the box (cos I was going to take it back and see if I can get a refund (ha ha), I noticed that there is a MAC number on this too.   Should I type in this number, on the configuration of the Livebox somewhere so as to get it to recognise a new piece of equipment?
  14. I am really sorry to come back to this but our situation has not improved, thanks to the right hand not telling the left hand what they are doing, and for my own lack of filing an important piece of paper in the correct place. By that I mean that our old dept. sent us the letter as per the original posting on 25/02 but the new dept that we are completing all the paperwork with has refused to accept our continuation. Owing to my own stupidity I have mislaid the letter from Dept 22 which I have quoted in the beginning of the thread.   Tomorrow I am meeting with a French friend who has kindly offered to phone both Depts. to try and sort this out for me, but I feel I really need that original letter.   I have asked for another copy today, but I don't think it will arrive by tomorrow.   Can anyone post a copy of this letter (leaving out any personal info) please?  Of course the letters seem to be a bit different, but if anyone has one that appears to say the same as mine I would be grateful for   your  help. with thanks
  15. Is this a good time of year to try to sprout them? How long roughly do they take to sprout?  I had quite a bit of success last year with squash so it would be nice to give them a go too.
  16. Thank you, I thought I had got the spelling wrong for sweet potato but does anyone know where I can get the sets from to plant?
  17. They're nice but I couldn't eat a whole one myself [;-)] Seriously we have two, they are lovely pets and I don't think I would want to leave them behind if given the choice. Let us know how you get on
  18. What are Sweet Peas called in France please, just looking through the Baumaux catalogue and can't seem to see them. Also, I know that Sweet Potato is called Potate Doux but does anyone know where the sets can be bought?  Again I've looked through Baumaux and can't see them. I love Sweet Potato and am hoping to grow some if possible. Many thanks
  19. Sorry Ron, forgive me my senior moment and thanks for your help.   I think there has been a mistake as all payments were taken, not by prelevement but by cheque each quarter.
  20. Can I just check something please? We paid to Urssaf the 2nd/3rd/4th trimestre for 2007.  The 2nd and 3rd payments were exactly the same but the 4th payment was more than double the other two - is there any reason why this would happen and is it normal? We are in the process of changing CPAM departments, we've been told by the old Dept that we'll be able to continue paying cotisations etc. but have been told by the new Dept (Perigeux) that we can't.   We know they have got this wrong and are trying to sort it out, but meanwhile should we contact Urssaf to make sure we don't get behind with 2008 payments?   I suppose the problem will be that until the CPAM have accepted our CMU de B and started the process off, Urssaf in Dept 24 won't have anything to do with us. Just when we thought it had all been sorted.....................................[:@]
  21. We found last year that we made the 2nd trimestre and 3rd trimestre payments and these were exactly the same amounts, but the 4th trimestre payment was more than double the other two. Does it normally work like this?   We thought the years payment would be divided equally so were a bit surprised by the higher payment request.
  22. Is there anything I can do to make sure our Livebox/call package works all the time?   I've found that some numbers it works ok, some numbers it rings then seems to go "dead" but the other person can hear me, I can't hear them though.   It doesn't seem to make any difference if these calls are France or UK, they both behave intermittently good, or bad?
  23. I've taken a look at my Livebox preferences page and as my French isn't too brilliant I am not sure if I need to do something on this page to add the supplementary computer + dongle? It's under Preferences Peripheriques and at the bottom is says Peripherique Wi-Fi and then add should I put something in this box so that I am telling the Livebox that I want to add something else? thanks
  24. I made sure the "never dial a connection" is ticked. I've tried to reinstall the CD for the dongle/livebox again and again, each time something different seems to happen. Now I've got a message saying the "the Livebox .... requires a network key, I type in the WEP key and then confirm it" but it doesn't seem to be recognising the WEP key.  Any more suggestions please, this is so frustrating.
  25. David No I haven't checked this, so what should I make sure I do, i.e make sure never dial a connection is not checked? We haven't altered anything since we had connection before with the other livebox/dongle.
