1. I would like to apply for the position of Hockey Coach, having played for Queen and County I have all the correct credentials and still don my skirt on occasion!  I'm very handy with a stick too!
2.
We both have drops (mine allo have quite  a lot of time off) which means h means I would be able to put a lot of work into it and my partner has the weekends free.
You  both have what??[8-)] This is my first renovation whilst living in the property and it has cost more, it's very stressful, very tiring and it never ends!!  I would definitely goearly there project.
3. Hello I'm no expert but as I see you are talking about a barn on another thread isn't that the issue.  If the property has never been a habitation it is now automatically 19.6% isn't it??  One of the tradesmen will commnet I'm sure. Panda
4. This cold snap is brining some great photo opportunities: Firstly the dogs enjoying the ice Now the ducks slipping and sliding to their normal feed spot even though I fed them where it wasn't icy, old habits or just a bit dim! 5. Hi I know someone who could not get an E106 as she had not been working prior to coming to France, she came over a year ago, her income was below the threshhold so she was entitled to free healthcare and so she is therefore indeed much better off than if she had been working in the UK before she came. It does seem completly unfair. Panda
6. Such a great story, please tell us the current situation, I could do it if you are really pushed, I have two dogs already and one is a bit grouchy but if it comes down to me or the kennels I would do it.  Please do keep us informed.
7.
If I said that rural France offered everybody right across the board unending entertainment and total fun, 7 days a week, would you accuse me of making 'sweeping generalisations' ? Scoob's...I toured the Guinness factory in Dublin 4 years ago. Walked in easily...staggered out, with a Guinness glass from the top floor bar as a souvenir[:D]. I'll bet you can't do that at 'Stella's.
But Jura that's the point, I wouldn't say that and to be honest it was the statement by Scooby, ' life in France for women is awful' that got my goat!  After this gem he continued in the same way, always statements, never a 'for me' or a 'I think', he is clearly neither a woman or living in France so it annoyed me that he could state these things as fact, you should understand this as I feel you are a strong woman and I was more offended by the chauvinistic element than anything else.  So no of course I wouldn't say it was the same everywhere, nor have I ever said said that things are all good here all of the time, in fact I have quoted often my concerns on many things.  As for the Guinness factory I toured it too but sadly a TV programme on the demise of Guinness last week stated they were likely going to sell off the factory as it's worth a great deal of money.  There has been a huge drop in sales of the black stuff year on year and things are not going well.[:(] Lastly, this woman who keeps ringing Scooby with tales of how bored a housewife she is, do you not think she is trying to entice him in??[;-)]
8.
Back from Ireland - lots of live music, wandering from pub to pub with several guinnesses...and had a wicked time.  Much more fun than France in winter [;-)] p.s. - greeted with a phone message from neighbour on my return, she's still bored, why haven't I called and she could really do with a holiday but can't afford.  Nuff said
Scooby will you EVER listen, there you go again sweepiing generalisations, please remember it's your opinion, I've just got back from an afternoon in a local restaurant where I had a 7 course meal, having wandered through the village with friends, the meal costs 12 euros a head, you simply get served the 7 courses, no selection takes place and the place was full of local french a truly enjoyable afternoon. The last time I was in Dublin I was treated to the rare sight of a young girl squatting for a pee in the street whilst passers by simply took no notice, that was nice!  That said I love Ireland but I don't post on the Living Ireland Forum as I don't, Live in Ireland!  re the phone message, I think she has her eye on you!!  [Www] EDIT, a small point, no one over 20 says 'nuff said' but to try and enter into the sprit of your 'street talk'  what about Scooby, Dooby, Do One!![:D]
9.
you mean women's troubles can be reversed? That's a new one.[6]
Better yet, we can sometimes switch them on or off depending on how we feel!
10.
Yes I think that you are right Ron. Its just that some of the differences of opinion could be entertaining! I notice the lack of traffic because I have had lots of time on my hands in the last 6 months recovering from my man operations and hence read and use the forum more.
Is this is a bit like womans troubles in reverse!
11. My old dog also has an in built clock, he fetches his collar for me to put on at the same time everyday and now we have the new pup he gets hers after his and tries to force it on her!
12. In terms of payment for the service, I can see where to swipe my carte bancaire but how to I enter my pin?????
13. How sad, my cat, now aged 18 also pined terribly when her brother died, we let her see him when we returned from the vet because like the kittens in this post they were inseparable, we hoped she would then see he was dead and move on.  We found a quiet spot in the garden and buried him, the sister then took to sleeping on this spot which was very spooky, she did not see us bury him there. So yes they can grieve, mine took a week to start acting normally and some months to stop going to the spot.  She would never accept another cat and is thankfully, 12 years on, still going strong,  She still hates all other cats though!
14. Hmmmm, I'm thinking I might swop Terry for David now then
15. Lets all ignore them and see what happens!!
16. Crikey! [blink] No I like Terry too but this is a whole new view of him!
17.
Hi My husband and I are moving to Les Mayons, Var for 8 months in April next year and we are so confused as to which childcare option to go to-les creches familiales or les assistantes independantes? Does anybody know which way to go or could reccommend one in our area? I also dont understand la fepem and if there is any financial aid from the French government? One more thing is that we would like to teach students (young and old) English conversation and wondered if anybody could direct us there too? Any help would be much appreciated. Sam
Is this one of them??  I just want to say HUH??
18. I just fainted, thanks for that Twinkle!  No padding required, not in my dreams anyway!!
19. Oh wow what a beautiful dog.  I'm in the same boat though having already taken on the very mischievous Polly I'm sure the nerves of the poor old dog couldn't take it, I will adopt again that I'm sure about but I must let things settle as my older dog has already had a stroke this year and the vet is fairly sure his many lumps could be something nasty, he is 13 next year although to see him you would never believe it.  I am very sure though that he has led a very a happy life and know we only have them for a fraction of the time we would like, I'm resigning myself to the fact that we probably have months left together rather than the many years I want but I will make room in my heart for the next one!
20.
well that says it all[6]
Ah, come on Wooly, everyone has a secret lust after someone they would not rather not admit to, so who is it, I'm guessing Kylie???
21. Ha!  Now if we could all start posting this type of information we would know more about the mind set of each poster!
22. Have you room for me Katie and David in there too?
23. Oh my god, that is toooo weird, I was about to post, DB (gagged obviously) would be my choice of a broom cupboard partner but I was scared of the ridicule that would follow! So we've both admitted it now, where did I put that tin hat?
24. No,  jam making is out too, who would you like to be locked in a broom cupboard with then?
