We estimated about 3 months - it's only 3300 m2 so should be straight forward. We were asked what we wanted to build and we have been told the restrictions (size of footprint and can only have 2 floors (ground and 1st) above ground because of the local Chateaux? We only want to build a small 3 bed in about 6 years time (saving our pennies [;-)]) It took about 3 months to purchase our small holiday home in the same area but that was private so wasn't quite sure if it was the same with a immobelier (sp). Hi, my husband and i are in the process of buying a building plot in Valencay (dep 36) - we put the deposit down on 5th April and signed contracts but we have yet to hear when we are to go back and sign the final papers and hand over the rest of the money. Just wondering if anyone knows how long this takes - i spoke to the immobliers and they've said it is with the notaire and no idea how much longer? Many Thanks Stacey

I used the company of dogs to get my cocker spaniel a SPORN harness and it has worked wonders and also saves his poor little neck! He hardly pulls at all now - when he stops i will put him back on a normal lead. The harness is easy to fit and tightens up underneath him when he does pull - its quite padded aswell.

Catalpa - no, our bateleur eagle is in Suffolk! Must be a bateleur eagle thing! I will also look at the falconry centre in Brittany.

WOW! What a responce!! Thanks to everyone i have now got a basis to do more research! As for my french im learning with a private tutor and slowly getting there. Im already a member of 1 international falconry forum but there appears to be none from france so i will attempt a peek at the other.   Stacey

PMSL! Mind you i am used to female hating eagles! At the center where i train there is a bateleur eagle who will try to attack any passing females (especisally me when im with her "boyfriend" which is her male, human trainer!!!!   Stacey

Hi, Im just wondering if there are any Falconners/Austringers about in France? Im currently training as a Falconner and would to love to continue as a hobby when my husband and myself move to France (dep 36). From what i have heard it's practically unheard of in France? I fly common buzzards and Male and Female Harris Hawks but also will be flying Lanner Falcons (prob just a lannerette when living in France! ) Would i need a permis de chasse as flying hawks would hunt?   Many Thanks Stacey
