    Dog needs home!

We acquired (!) an English setter bitch who is now aged 14 months and sadly circumstances mean that we are unable to keep her permanently. she is very pretty, good with cats, dogs, horses and adores children. She is a very busy dog and needs an active home with someone who is prepared to put in a bit of work to keep her occupied. Is there anyone out there who would love "Lottie"? Thanks Catharine

    Chatons a donner....

I ended up with 7 to rehome and having phoned a local cat rescue place, took the woman's advice and stuck an ad in the local paper. Amazingly enough they all went within 48 hrs and the phone is still ringing! If they are at all fluffy, you can say that they are "demi angora" as apparently these are very sought after! And you will need to give the paper a tatoo no for the mother cat; mine was completely fictitious as the two abandoned mothers in question were clearly not tattooed...You just need to come up with 3 letters and 3 nos eg, PRT607. Good Luck! Catharine

    Horse Passports

I brought a horse and two ponies from the UK prior to equine passports being introduced in the uk. The only paperwork they currently have is their (uk)vaccination certs with an id taken. Do they require French passports; I presume this is a Europwide requirement? Having said that I know of a lot of French owners who do not have "les papiers". What are these "papiers" exactly, my understanding is that they are breed papers rather than registration documents? Sorry to be so clueless but having trawled the BHS and DEFRA sites, I can't seem to find any information relating to this situation! And having had incredible fun and games with Defra when we brought our menagerie to France, I would be very surprised if they knew anyway....!!! Thanks Catharine
  5. Hi Vicky What a nice idea, had I seen your message in time I would have definately come along with my two year old "yob" (and probably been asked to leave after about 15 mins!) We are not a million miles away, near Lavardac, do you fancy meeting up for a toddler bun fight? Cheers catharine
  6. Is anyone able to reccommend a farrier and equine dentist in or around the Agen area? A vet would also be handy too! Having just moved down from Brittany any information would be a great help. We have a horse and two ponies and not enough time to do them all justice so if anyone is interested in exercising or riding out together, please get in touch. Thanks!
