We are moving to France in april for 11 months,  for the summer we will live in a caravan   but come winter may need to rent somewhere. can anybody give me an idea as to probable cost per month in poitiers area please or an email to find some

Hi , can any one recomend a builder and supplier of timber/oak frame houses in or near to poitiers, we have seen them on tv uk and like what we see but as yet unable to find same in france maybe because internet sites are in french and google searches in english

Hi leo just  looked at your reply We live near alicante  ,well when I say near a 25 min drive from it    and as you would expect 20 mins from airport and access to flights from uk. Spain is still a good investment but not as good now as it was say 5 years ago as prices are rising   due to influx of ex pats and other nationals coming over. Obviously  the nearer the coast the higher the cost     ie frontline places   so if being right on the coast is not too importamt go inland some,, if you are thinking of renting look at good tourist areas and dont forget some people dont drive abroad so again facilities and some night life maybe needed  , if renting dont buy top class furniture but decent stuff never the less ,   think of yoiur rentors  ie will it be couples families etc etc this will help decide on bathrooms  pool etc etc etc Any way Leo if you want to ask anything specific please feel free to do so ands if I can help I will or try to find out for you [:D]

Hi Leo  We live in spain ner Alicante  approx 25mins drive from airport and 15mins inland from coast, our 'finca' is 3 bed 2 bath with pool. I would be glad to give any help or try to answer any questions you have re buying in spain,    full of pitfalls for the unwary   best advise ,DONT LEAVE BRAINS ON PLANE,      Think before commiting  a lot of good sales people out here with no scruples  just out to sell.   Tony

hi I to any and all expats near menigoute     we have bought a plot of land near menigoute  'Le Bourliere'   and would like to meet/say hi to any english living in that area maybe meet up for a drink and chat  

hi  we travel from spain to menigoute near poitiers several times a year, our 2 dogs have a passport which includes rabies information, before we set off we go to a local vet who examins the dogs and signs to say they are/were ok to travel to france and uk... we go to france and return via the somport tunnel     ( pau oleron )  and as yet have not seen a customs officer never mind being stopped by one

hi winker  I have just bought land near parthenay ( menigoute) I'm advance diver assitant club instructor, used to be with Doncaster branch where i was training officer for a while, at the moment I live in spain but maybe next year will move to menigoute so any more information about you and new club would be nice,

Hi we are just starting on the french adventure,,,ie we have bought a plot of land near poitiers ( menigoute) approx 1 acre with full permissions for electric water telephone and waste plus a single storey dwelling up to 189m2 build. so the questions we want to ask are what now, how do we get services onto land , we need an access ie ditch piped   etc land cleared and if at all possible some one who acctually lives near menigoute to talk to  please help[8-)]
