1.
You don't have to do anything - just take it to Sweden and register it there.
I thought you had to do something similar to UK, i.e. filling up the V5 equivalent of exporting it abroad? Don't the french authorities need to know that the car is not registered anymore in their system?
2. Hi, I have a car on French plates and would like put Swedish plates on it. How do I deregister it from the French system? Thank you.
3. Hi, I have been working in France for the last 16 motnhs and will soon return back to the UK. The problem is I have bought a new car in France and I would like to insure it in UK keeping the french plates otherwise it will be a hassle when coming to sell it (the car is LHD so it will have to be taken back to france to be sold). Are there any companies that would be able to insure a car with foreign plates in the UK for 12 months? Your help is much appreciated as it seems to be a real nightmare to change number plates every time you go to work in a different country. Many Thanks, pouk
4. Sunday Driver, thanks for the useful information. I am thinking of buying a new car from germany and importing it here. How is it possible to get a tax refund from germany? The tax in france (19.6%?) is applied on the: 'price of the vehicle in germany minus the german VAT'?   Thanks,
5. Hi, I was wondering what the situation is regarding driving with english plates. Are there any french insurance companies that will let you insure a car on english plates? Alternatively, are there any english insurance companies that give 12 month cover abroad? (apart from the one listed in another post) Also are modified cars difficult to insure in france? Thanks a lot for your help, Regards,
