1. Very good, cajal! Reminds of BBC children's radio in the PM. The Nellie song was a favourite of so many kids.
 2.
Come, Gluey, my last post was meant to be ironic[:D] It's a bit like saying our house was in such a dreadful condition that the rats are queuing to get out? So, with Trump in place, the illegals do not want to enter the States after all? However, if you did get the joke, I apologise for teaching my grandmother to suck eggs........
Oh no Minty, not thee; I was responding to PaulT, not yourself. And, of course I did get the joke and liked it! Shades of the memories of the film Cleopatra; which if anyone remembered, ran so far over budget it was an utter disaster, mainly since Liz Taylor kept throwing tantrums and having hissy fits and chucking her teddies out of her pram. One starlet turns to another and asks: "So, who does one have to sleep with to get OUT of this damned picture?" And the hugely cynical comment concerning the Berlin Wall. Which recounted, the West German army and police have had to treble their guards on the wall, to prevent all the West Germans from trying to flee to the worker's utopia of East Germany! [:D]
 3. Well, thus far they have pretty good at building tunnels under US sovereign soil, to smuggle illegals and drugs in...................[Www] Here:
 4.
.........my tenet still holds, you should still treat people with respect.
Respect has to be earned, Judith. It is not an automatic right. And this is where the Liberal-Left have blinded far too many, for far too long.
 5.
I see he has started by emulating most well known dictators by appointing two of his sons and his son in law to be in charge of his transition team.
As the Borgia family teach us from history, better those you know than those you don't. Otherwise you may well have clutched a viper to your bosom...
 6.
There's a lot of powerful facts and good sensible thought there EBN, from Gluestick too, which makes a change from some posts, hilarious tho' they might be. Crow pie is not particularly digestible is it ? I just got this link in from Hillary herself, but if you don't admire DT, better not to click I'd venture. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNbF9PI9Gjo and this is informative : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVDliwn0Xjg Bon weekend for everyone.
Thanks for kind words, Ernie; and the links. The African-Americans interviewed in the second video, talk much more sense than 99% of the commentators, journalists and media presenters added together The only area where H R Clinton has succeeded, together with her idiot spouse, is in terms of personal enrichment. Trump is a total outsider; almost treated as a pariah by the US old boy, political and banking set. Indeed, he has succeeded, despite them; not because of them. One of the core reasons I wanted him to win. Otherwise, it wouldn't matter a fig, whether it has been a GOP or Dem candidate who won; it would have been business as usual and let the the majority of Americans eat cake... And this is what most people fail to realise about politics, law and the rest. Whilst in public they all talk up a storm; and in parliament or a court of law and on the opposing sides, one could be forgiven for believing they were mortal enemies! Except as with professional wrestlers, outside the ring, they are the best of chums, socialise, drink together and ignore their synthetic, manufactured for the punters, ostensible differences. The whole system is a scam: a charade. Identical to the Roman Circuses, created to keep the proles from thinking too much and keeping them subservient. Many on this site have repeated the myth concerning Trump's xenophobia and racism. If so, then riddle me this; why does the Trump Organisation employ so many Blacks, Hispanics, Arabs, Asians, etc? Why did the majority Black States vote for Trump? He is an accomplished negotiator; he has just proven he is not a bad orator; he understands operation of a large, sprawling business empire. Most critical of all, he is divorced from the established political hegemony and the hugely incestuous Special Interest Lobbying machine. And has succeeded, as I earlier stated, despite them; not because of them!
 7.

Simple fact is NO ONE yet knows what Trump's actual policies will be. NO ONE!
But I could have sworn that YOU GS posted the Trump policy list one by one. What's not to like? IIRC
Andy: Trump is a politician. They are ALL the same. They talk up a storm when out on the stump and then refine, change and amend as things progress. Yes indeed, I did post the early release of Trump's first iteration of his stated policy objectives. Already, he has modified his stance on Obamacare. See Here: For me, Tony BLiar's action in reneging on PR, shortly after his first election (It was cast in concrete in Labour's manifesto) was perhaps the biggest political volte face of all time! Having won a landslide election, Two Jags - he of the multiple chins and wobbling jowls -  announced this reversal using weasel words to slide out of the commitment.
 8.
So ebaynut - perhaps you'd better move over the pond if you like what you see. I only see someone who disrespects women and many others - no matter whether he can turn the economy round - how you treat EVERONE is what matters first and foremost.
I much admire your altruistic sentiments, Judith. Sadly both charitable giving and the expansion of social benefits and improvements comes from economic success, not failure. The USA is bust. Many major cities and states are bust too. HUD has failed and many other social projects and programmes. What has succeeded big time, is Big Capital, i.e. Wall Street et al. Yet not "the real economy on Main Street" as it is called. In truth, even after two terms, Obama has been coasting and has achieved nothing.
 9.
The first thing Trump will do is line his pockets,
Which of course, the Kennedy dynasty didn't do - papa Joe being a bootlegger -; the Clinton's didn't do. Tony Blair didn't do: Hollande hasn't done - love his €1,000,000 house on the Côte d'Azur, BTW - Mandelson hasn't done; Barroso the Marxist has not joined Goldman Sachs, of course, it's all a lie!
then destroy the environment
as China, India et al continue to do, and destroy jobs and prosperity in the West, which has hobbled itself and its industries by insane goody goody "Climate Change" taxes and laws, despite it now being proven it is mainly a scam and has made Al Gore (The well known Liberal in Clinton's administration, an extremely wealthy man; etc. Let us have some hard facts, please, Wooly, rather than a disappointed rant. Simple fact is NO ONE yet knows what Trump's actual policies will be. NO ONE!
 10.
What I do find rather annoying is the way the term 'liberal lefty' is thrown around as if it's an insult. If that is what people think I am then it's something I'm very proud of..not a negative thing at all. Why would anyone be insulted by being accused of being tolerant, open minded and wanting a fairer society?
True Liberals no longer exist, Linda. When the Gang of Four, defected from Labour and formed the SDP, then migrated to the Liberal Party to form as now, the Liberal Democrats, Liberalism became infected with modern Socialism and over-concerned with the plethora of PCness that has made them a laughing stock. Huhn didn't help their public image. A Liberal-Left person describes precisely what they are; which is no way Liberal. Their heroic time (Lloyd-George; Asquith; Gladstone et al),  was finished and done by 1922. Sadly; since the achieved so much for the Little People. If I was so inclined (I am not, I am apolitical as I cannot abide any of 'em!), then I would be a Liberal: as I believe, passionately, in Fair Dos. However, I cannot abide Socialism, as history since 1944 demonstrates its inherent flaws. Clearly, rather than Liberal-Left, you are an altruist: which is hugely different.
 11.
Juppé is probably exactyly the wrong person to beat LePen. He has all  drawbacks of Clinton, being so much part of the old guard, without even having the feminist vote...
Couldn't agree more, Norman! Also Juppé still suffers from the debacle of trying to reform the social contract; and failing. Indeed exactly as did Domenique de Villepin; selected by Chirac as his natural successor.
 12. Jazzer: If this prof is such a law expert, then why is he wasting his time in the groves of academe, rather than earnings a couple of million bucks a year with a top DC law firm? Sour grapes, springs to mind. US presidents have only ever been impeached for breaches of trust and unlawful actions WHILST they were president; not before..... If so, then most of the US Presidents since post Eisenhower, would have been out on their jacksie. Dubya Bush: Papa Bush; Clinton; JFK; keep on going.
 13. Actually, at first he very much did. What has to be remembered is, post the collapse of the Weimar Republic, hyperinflation and starvation, there was little work. Even extremely clever graduates struggled to find meaningful work. Indeed, I read one potted bio, where a young engineering grad opted to sign up for one of the Fuhrer's  work camps since at the very least, he would eat. Later, he joined the Kriegsmarine and volunteered for the U Boat programme and became one of the top sub commanders. Important also to realise, Germany was decimated by the idiotic unflinching demands from the French President, Clemenceau, for War Reparations. The so-called Paris Peace Conference, 1919, leading to the Versailles Treaty, saddled Germans with unmeetable debts and completely took away their pride: critical to the Prussian army officers and an embedded aspect of Teutonic psyche. Thus this "Peace Conference" guaranteed World War Two. Despite two terms of Obama and previously, the incompetence of Dubya Bush, states such as Pennslyvania suffer a "Rust Belt", mainly thanks to major industrial employers, shuttering their plants and throwing tens of thousands of middle Americans onto the scrap heap. Since venal Big Biz joined in the rush to "Offshore" jobs to Asia. This is not a new phenomena; the "China Effect" has been in process for many years, and caused what analysts and commentators call, the creation of McJobs; low paid menial work at at or near minimum wage. Wall Street and its greedy despoiling financial profiteers, has enjoyed a good run: however Wall Street et al, is not "The Real Economy on Main Street". This short-sighted greed is now coming to home to roost. Trump has cleverly latched onto such anger and despair. All he has to now to is deliver on his promises; in which he stands as much chance as the other self-serving cronyist cabal of politicians whom for far too long have been puppets to Big Capital. P.S. If you really wish to enjoy detailed knowledge of the rise and fall of Hitler et al, I wholly recommend Michael Burleigh's book, "The Third Reich" (Pan- McMillan isbn: 0 330 48757 4). Not for the faint hearted; the softback is just under 1,000 pages......). I am currently, slowing ploughing through it! [blink] Also, my constant reference book on the 1919 Peace Conference is the epic and much praised work, The Peacemakers. "Peacemakers: The Paris Peace Conference of 1919 and Its Attempt to End War (2001) is a historical narrative about the events of the Paris Peace Conference of 1919. It was written by the Canadian historian Margaret MacMillan with a foreword by American diplomat Richard Holbrooke. The book has also been published under the titles Paris 1919: Six Months That Changed the World and Peacemakers: Six Months That Changed the World." (Margaret Olwen MacMillan, CC (born 23 December 1943) is a Canadian historian and professor at the University of Oxford, where she is Warden of St Antony's College. She is former provost of Trinity College and professor of history at the University of Toronto and previously at Ryerson University. A leading expert on history and international relations, MacMillan is a commentator in the media.[1] She is a great-granddaughter of former British Prime Minister David Lloyd George.)
 14. Here is Trumps' manifesto plan. What is not to like? (To use an Americanism): * FIRST, I will announce my intention to renegotiate NAFTA or withdraw from the deal under Article 2205 * SECOND, I will announce our withdrawal from the Trans-Pacific Partnership * THIRD, I will direct my Secretary of the Treasury to label China a currency manipulator * FOURTH, I will direct the Secretary of Commerce and U.S. Trade Representative to identify all foreign trading abuses that unfairly impact American workers and direct them to use every tool under American and international law to end those abuses immediately * FIFTH, I will lift the restrictions on the production of $50 trillion dollars' worth of job-producing American energy reserves, including shale, oil, natural gas and clean coal. * SIXTH, lift the Obama-Clinton roadblocks and allow vital energy infrastructure projects, like the Keystone Pipeline, to move forward * SEVENTH, cancel billions in payments to U.N. climate change programs and use the money to fix America's water and environmental infrastructure Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law: * FIRST, cancel every unconstitutional executive action, memorandum and order issued by President Obama * SECOND, begin the process of selecting a replacement for Justice Scalia from one of the 20 judges on my list, who will uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States * THIRD, cancel all federal funding to Sanctuary Cities * FOURTH, begin removing the more than 2 million criminal illegal immigrants from the country and cancel visas to foreign countries that won't take them back * FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting. Next, I will work with Congress to introduce the following broader legislative measures and fight for their passage within the first 100 days of my Administration: Middle Class Tax Relief And Simplification Act. An economic plan designed to grow the economy 4% per year and create at least 25 million new jobs through massive tax reduction and simplification, in combination with trade reform, regulatory relief, and lifting the restrictions on American energy. The largest tax reductions are for the middle class. A middle-class family with 2 children will get a 35% tax cut. The current number of brackets will be reduced from 7 to 3, and tax forms will likewise be greatly simplified. The business rate will be lowered from 35 to 15 percent, and the trillions of dollars of American corporate money overseas can now be brought back at a 10 percent rate.End The Offshoring Act. Establishes tariffs to discourage companies from laying off their workers in order to relocate in other countries and ship their products back to the U.S. tax-free.American Energy & Infrastructure Act. Leverages public-private partnerships, and private investments through tax incentives, to spur $1 trillion in infrastructure investment over 10 years. It is revenue neutral.School Choice And Education Opportunity Act. Redirects education dollars to give parents the right to send their kid to the public, private, charter, magnet, religious or home school of their choice. Ends common core, brings education supervision to local communities. It expands vocational and technical education, and make 2 and 4-year college more affordable.Repeal and Replace Obamacare Act. Fully repeals Obamacare and replaces it with Health Savings Accounts, the ability to purchase health insurance across state lines, and lets states manage Medicaid funds. Reforms will also include cutting the red tape at the FDA: there are over 4,000 drugs awaiting approval, and we especially want to speed the approval of life-saving medications.Affordable Childcare and Eldercare Act. Allows Americans to deduct childcare and elder care from their taxes, incentivizes employers to provide on-side childcare services, and creates tax-free Dependent Care Savings Accounts for both young and elderly dependents, with matching contributions for low-income families.End Illegal Immigration Act Fully-funds the construction of a wall on our southern border with the full understanding that the country Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such wall; establishes a 2-year mandatory minimum federal prison sentence for illegally re-entering the U.S. after a previous deportation, and a 5-year mandatory minimum for illegally re-entering for those with felony convictions, multiple misdemeanor convictions or two or more prior deportations; also reforms visa rules to enhance penalties for overstaying and to ensure open jobs are offered to American workers first.Restoring Community Safety Act. Reduces surging crime, drugs and violence by creating a Task Force On Violent Crime and increasing funding for programs that train and assist local police; increases resources for federal law enforcement agencies and federal prosecutors to dismantle criminal gangs and put violent offenders behind bars.Restoring National Security Act. Rebuilds our military by eliminating the defense sequester and expanding military investment; provides Veterans with the ability to receive public VA treatment or attend the private doctor of their choice; protects our vital infrastructure from cyber-attack; establishes new screening procedures for immigration to ensure those who are admitted to our country support our people and our valuesClean up Corruption in Washington Act. Enacts new ethics reforms to Drain the Swamp and reduce the corrupting influence of special interests on our politics.
 15. Neil. Perhaps the critical key here, is the simple fact your L&G thermostat reads zero volts and amps (no drain or residual current) when off. and 230/40 V AC when on. Therefore, via a fuse (5 Amp ideally, since the initial "Surge Current" - pump motor -  may well blow a 3 amp jobby),  try connecting a phase (live) feed to the wire going into the Brûleur and see if the boiler fires up. If it then does, ergo summat amiss with your programmer, logically. Suggest you contact Drayton tech services and request some guidance. No way there should be voltage on terminal 4 if it is off. Will ponder some more tomorrow, as have managed to copy and paste the boiler wiring schematics.
 16. Sarcasm does not become you, Grecian. If you are going to make controversial statements, then at least, surely, check some factual references prior to doing so? Merely following the mass media ( who are in process of trying to brainwash everyone and have mainly succeeded) is not normally factual reference. As the great Mark Twain (A newspaperman) wrote: " The man who does not read a newspaper is ill-informed. The man who does read a newspaper, is misinformed!"
 17.
I can't look for the written evidence at the moment, Gluestick, but there have been various commentators who do say that the conservative party, under May, has veered sharply to the right so I believe that Grecian has a valid point. Meanwhile, the continentals call her Theresa Peut-etre..............perhaps she is and perhaps she isn't;  just wish she'd make up her bloody mind!
Examples of Far Right politicians. Hitler: Mussolini; Generalisimo Francisco Franco: Salazar (Portugal): Peron; and most South American nation states. Papa Doc and his son, Baby Doc, Haiti: Pol Pot; Eugène Ney Terre'Blanche the leader of  Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging etc. Probably the distinguishing mark of a genuine Far Right politician is those who have the absolute power to have you, err, extinguished, with little or no evidence or due legal process.
there have been various commentators
Probably the same people who forecast Clinton to win? [:D] So sadly, today, a majority of "journalists" and supposed commentators, are far left-liberal. and they abuse the term "Far Right" to mean anyone who doesn't agree with themselves. They also scatter trite words and expressions, such as "Homophobe"; "Bigot"; "Nazi": "Facist": "Racist": etc. Naturally, ignoring the definition  of the word, Bigot: i.e. anyone immune and disinterested in one's point of view or perspective; since, they, themselves, are in fact the Bigots...
 18. Nope: he pretends to be a Marxist, yet behaves as a Chinese Warlord in the Qing Dynasty... All apart from which he is clearly a certifiable nut job.
 19.
This is my worry. He says he believes in Nuclear proliferation,
Nice idea: I feel, however, a little organisation in Switzerland might have a small input... See here:
It is alarming to think what would happen at 3.a.m when a call comes through requesting immediate action. He is so volatile, he is the last person I would want with his finger near the button.
You do not really believe POTUS alone, can press a little button and start a global nuclear holocaust, do you? Been reading too many Dan Brown pulp fiction books, perhaps...
 20.
Cannot see it happening unfortunately, but I would love to put two fingers up to Ms May and her bunch of far-right nutcases.
Far Right??? Are you being serious? How do you define "The Far Right", Grecian?
 21. Apparently, Jonz, the Secret Service team body guarding Clinton, nicknamed her airplane, "The Broomstick"! [:D]
 22. Clearly, Corbynchov's brother has much more intellect and common sense....
Piers Corbyn compares Trump victory to his brother Jeremy This is a statement from Piers, the brother of Jeremy Corbyn: "Whatever you may have heard or feel about Donald Trump his election is an amazing revolution and vote of no-confidence against the corrupt self-serving political establishment bubble, mainstream media and opinion manipulators in the USA and the world. The result will lead to tremendous changes which will defy and out-date the norms of today's tired and failing elites and methods. This election is strangely reminiscent of my brother, Jeremy Corbyn's, epic victories in Labour - on many different policies but nevertheless against the establishment bubble. Incidentally I predicted both these victories months ahead and will shortly collect bet winnings from William Hill for Trump's win."
23.
The idea of a European army has never looked better to me. Britain cannot defend itself alone if NATO collapses.
An EU Army? [:D] Since the EU Commissars couldn't organise a booze up in a distillery, one can imagine how any conflict would emulate General Burgoyne, who was enjoying a game pie, donchja know, behind a haystack during the Battle of Saratoga in the American war of independence ; was surrounded and forced to capitulate... He and his orficers and gentlemen were repatriated to blighty; whereas all the enlisted grunts were imprisoned.
 24.
Personally, I genuingly believe he will, just like Reagan, make a success of his presidency. This is yet another wake up call to the world's political elite regards cajal
I agree, cajal. with both sentiments.
