3.
Yes, we know Justin, some of my mates are entertaining him as we speak. Do you always send such innocents? Is that part of the plan?[6]
That reminds me of that disgusting synthetic potato mush! For Mash get Smash!

6. My darling Dotty,  the only code I'm using at this hour is 'code du Rhone' well it's  Merlot actually sorry if I am confusing you, I hope Sharon is managing to keep up, but i'm sure this is all useful to her apprenice ship on this planet.  Took me 7 minutes to write this post with all the edits (Dlunk) be careful Sharon - don't drink too much of the red water!
7. It's the time of year Dotty, gastro, ortite, bird flu... at least we have the forum to keep us company! By the way Sharon the Martian, "green fingers" is a term we use here which means you don't kill plants when you look at them.
8. Hi Tresco, I could have had a life to-night but my in-laws couldn't babysit!   So here I am, trying to help poor souls living in France.  The weather's quite good all over France at the moment so I assume that the lack of 'giddy hour' posters is down to the fact that they are all (quite rightly) dining outdoors this evening.   Are your fingers green dear?
9.
Sharon, perhaps transitvan would be the best bet down here.  You see, some sad things have happened to us females while awaiting a good organ grinder.
These lot haven't got a chance with Miki!
10. "(I sometimes wonder why I'm still single)." Really?[Www]
11. "Hardy Plants for Unbearable Heat but Little Sun, Coupled With Flooding in The Cold Winter Months, Sahara Conditions in the Summer, and the Odd Splash of Sea Salt Borne on a Tremendous Wind, to be Planted on a Bed of Builders Best Rubble" Tresco, you forgot the Neighbours Dogs Droppings [+o(]
12. Miki said - "Oooh no............................ but I do like a bit of rough...............not not gruff Dick, keep the dog away............... I said rough !!" You like?[:)]
13.   Hi SB, if Dicks dog's not interested in this one do you think there's room in Mikis hareem for her?
14.
hi jeanie, we have not heard from you in a while.  Been doing anything interesting?
Hopefully jeannie is socialising and learning french like she said she wanted to - good luck girl!
15. Now that we've established that we're all talking 'bout the same dangerous insects can I be silly now and say  "Imagine if you can, Ian with his umbrella standing in the middle of a field somewhere in France prodding caterpillars"[Www]
16. Last year I saw my neighbour following a "procession" of about 20 of these horrible monsters with a can of lighter petrol and a box of matches.  I asked him what he was doing[*-)] and he told me that hes going to set fire to the lot of them and that if in the future I saw any I should do the same.  They are extremely toxic and you should not touch them.  Apparently they are very destructive to plants as well as small animals.
17. And a couple of contenders for Dicks dogs hareem!
18. Hi Chessie, I called my vet earlier and explained what happened with your cat and he told me that even though he/she wasn't asleep for the second injection the brain is already disconnected so no pain apart from a slight sting of the needle is felt by the cat.  The convulsing that you witnessed is a natural reaction of the body contuinuing to fuction and breathe, he assured me that the cat feels no pain.  WhenI told him about the bleeding nose, he said that after the cat had passed away swelling may have caused burst vessels, which is usual with elderly cats. You were right to relieve the poor animal of it's suffering, don't feel bad you acted out of kindess.
19.
At least 86000 living on the street in France, i.e. literally on the street, not in hostels or night shelters. At least 3 million "mal logés", but according to Médécins du Monde the figure of people in real difficulty with logements is probably 5 million. A number of SDFs do have jobs, but find themselves not earning enough to rent anywhere but too much to get aide sociale to find lodgings. There should be a docu on Canal+ tomorrow night by a journalist who spent a month as an SDF.   In brief, he says it's a very hard life, and not just because of the cold.  Lack of hygiene.  Loneliness.  Fatigue, because you never sleep properly because you always have to be ready to protect yourself.  Latent violence.  Gangs and groups form and re-form.  Any communality and mutual support is superficial, and au fond it's chacun pour soi.
Did you see the documentary?  Shocking!  Like you said a lot of these people have jobs but don't earn enough to pay rent on a flat.  There is help (restaurant du coeur) serve regular meals and the over 45's are entitled to nightly accomodation (often flea infested!) but once you get sucked in to street life there's very little hope of getting back on track in the 'real world'.
