  1. Hi Will their vet not do it for them?  If not the only one I know off-hand is in Richlieu in the main square. Regards
  2. Hi Chris   Have you tried Brico Depot just outside Poitiers at Dissay.  They have several different types of gate.
  3. I knew people in England who used Autarky and it is very good but like ' it says on the tin'  it is for working dogs and is very high protein.  If you have a dog that gets a lot and I mean a lot of exercise then it is excellent otherwise I wouldn't recommend using it long term.   When we first arrived in France, having used Winalot in England, I found out that it was called Friskies here but my dogs wouldn't eat it beause it had vegetables in it.  After trying several French foods most of which seem to have vegetables in and therefore are apparently inedible (!) I have ended up feeding them on Pedigree which does not have vegetables but which I feel has perhaps too much protein and will try to wean them on to something else.  And I thought children were fussy.
  4. Having read all the above comments, has anybody used any of these people for varifocals by sending a perscription plus an old pair for positioning and been happy with the result?  I would be very interested to know.  Thanks
  5. Back again.  I accept what you say Harvey about exchange rates, so what would you recommend.  If you accept payment by credit card.  How does that work?  Excuse my ignorance on this.
  6. Many thanks to all of you, it was very helpful.  No doubt I will have further questions as I go along.  Thanks again
  7. I am just starting out as a gite owner having spent last year getting it up to scratch.  Could anyone please advise the best way of asking for payment for a let.  Also what sort of deposit.  If you take a deposit on booking when do you ask for the balance?    I still have an English bank account.  Is it easier to get payment into that account but where does that leave you with the tax man?   Any information would be gratefully received.
