Hi Muzzie, I am currently undergoing treatment and have been put of Clomid (fertilty drug) and my gyno monitors with me with very regular scans.  I had had some investigations done  in the UK so the doctor was happy to proceed with Clomid first for 3 months to see if it works.  If not then we will look at the next step.  All of this is covered.  When I got my top-up insurance I checked with them that they covered any fertility treatment and they do.  I am with groupama.  I don't know what percentage is paid by the state and what by the insurance but I pay nothing.  Hope this is of some help and good luck.  Regards, Victoria

Hi, My husband and I plus our 2 very well trained border collies are moving from the Lot et Garonne to the Var (Le Thoronet) in September. I would love to hear from anyone who loves dog walks/jogging in my area. Thanks to all for the helpful response.  CPAM have been contacted again this morning and have confirmed that we are covered for all Sunday driver has mentioned.  This seems to be yet another case of the CPAM office in 47dept. being exstremly unhelpful.  This is not the first time we have been given totally contradictory information and it is not an issue with language as my friend who has called on my behalf has lived in France since she was a child and is a trained linguist.  She had the first person repeat to her 3 times that we were not covered for any hospital treatment!  We have been told by the local French citizens advice office that 47 is notorious for not welcoming newcomers and creating even more problems than usual.  Does anybody have the same experience? Please take heed and if you think you are being given incorrect information try, try again! Thanks again. Victoria

Can  anyone shed any light on this one:  We have our attestations that we got through E106, (husband works in the UK and pays NI there but we are resident in France).  However, after a trip to the local insurance office to see about top-up insurance, the insurance lady said there is something odd on our attestation. Under beneficiaire(s) it states the following: Hospitalisation et soins ext. hors budget golbal followed by our names and DOB.  A friend (with perfect french!) called CPAM today and they said we are not covered for hospitalisation, only for doctors, prescriptions and out-patient treatment. As you can imagine this has thrown us into a bit of a muddle. One would presume having given up all rights to NHS treatment we would be covered under the reciprocal agreement between the UK and France.  We have also had no problem with CPAM giving us a european health card so we are covered if we fall ill in the UK, but not apparently in France!  I am going to phone Newcastle tomorrow to see if they can clear this up for me but any advise or help would be gratefully appriciated. Also our attestation runs out on the 3rd July this year, we are well with-in our 2 years of cover (as we still work and pay NI contributions in the UK does this continue ad infinitum?) when would you advise we start to ask for a renewal?  As our local CPAM office took our E106 and I cannot remember what date was on it, do we need to ask for another one from the inland revenue? Hi, My husband and I are looking for a long term let min. 1 year commencing April 2007.  As I am aware most will have already taken summer lets we are willing to be patient and wait until Autumn.  We are currently in the Lot et Garonne and wish to move further South.  Ideally the house would be 'stand alone' (not part of a gite and main house) have 3/4 bedrooms, swimming pool, on the edge of a village or hamlet and have ADSL.  We are fairly flexible on areas at the moment, however, we must be within a hours drive of either Toulouse, Marseille or Nice airports. We have two very well behaved dogs and are a young professional couple.  References can be provided. I would be gratful if anyone with any ideas or contacts could get in touch.  Also any advise on where to find long term lets in the areas mentioned - good local papers/websites etc. would be gratefully received. Hi, Thanks all for the tax advise- but we have all that sorted out.  My husband is air-crew and therefore falls into a totally separate tax system.  It is only the health cover we are not clear about as our accountants only deal with our tax.  I will give Newcastle a call and see what they say.  Thanks again for all the advise. Hi Thanks for the reply.  My husband works in the UK for a UK company but is resident in France therefore reducing our tax liability in the UK and not having to pay French tax or contributions.  Does that mean I need to call Newcastle (not sure who you all mean in Newcastle!)and ask for the for mentioned?  If so, who do I then contact and pass it onto? Hi Will, Not sure if you will be able to help me on this but my situation sound a little like the one you have described.  I am trying to work how to get onto the French health care system as my husband and I live in France but my husband is employed and pays taxes and national ins. in the UK.  He is covered for private treatment in the UK but there is no point me being covered in the UK.  I would like to get on the French system and pay top up private cover.  Any ideas would be welcome!!  Thanks very much Victoria

Hi, I am looking for someone to look after our two very well behaved border Collies, Duras/Eymet area.   At the moment, the first date would be the 29th and 30th April.  You could come to the dogs or the dogs to you which ever suits. They are not used to young children and need a decent walk each day other than that they are a pleasure to have around. They have never been in kennels and we are not interested in putting them in kennels now. Please let me know if you would be interested. Regards, Victoria
