  1. Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help me! Our TV remote control is not working (well parts of it anyway!). The volume button for one. I know it's possible to tune your Sky remote so that it will change the volume on your TV, but how do you do it? Also changing channels on the TV?   Thanks in advance LG
  2. Hi all, We recently signed up with Alice to get ADSL and their telephone offer for 30 euros per month. We had to go "degroupage total" for this and I was under the impression that we would no longer receive a facture for the line rental etc from FT. We have received the facture this morning, which indeed has the line rental on it. Plus we had previously signed up for an offer from FT, which included 1 hour's international calls per week (or was it month?) This is also still being charged for. Did I get it all wrong? Are we still supposed to pay FT as well as Alice? We have had a bill from Alice with International calls on it, but I guess the same phone calls are on the FT bill as well? Aargh! Help! Totally confused now! Thanks LG
  3. Hi all, This might not seem worthy of a post to some, but I am *desparate* to find out if the new HP film is going to be shown in VO anywhere near me? Does anyone know where I could find this out? It's released over here tomorrow, I've tried Allocine.fr, but it only gives listings until today. It doesn't go as far as tomorrow! Can anyone help? Thanks LG
  4. Hi. I am looking for other Mums with small children in area 35, would like to start a get-together/coffee morning etc. There doesn't seem to be anything to do with small children here that's organised, like tumbletots etc, so I guess a lot of us don't get the chance to meet other Mums?  If anyone would like to meet up, then please contact me; I have 2 sons, one aged 3 and a half and one who's just turned 2. Hope to hear from you   LG
  5. Hi Ian, I think that's what Steve meant to say! 0.06 euro, not cents! Thanks both for your input though! But I think (if I'm reading it right) that if you use ## to dial from your FT line, then you will be charged by FT! Here's the paragragh... Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong! LG
  6. God, I get dozens of these!!!! I always forward them along with the signature info to [email protected] I don't think it can do much, but at least it makes Ebay aware of how much of this goes on. LG
  7. Hi. We have just received our ALicebox and are eventually up and running with ADSL. Our offer also includes "free" phonecalls and we had to apply for something called degroupage total to FT. But I don't understand how it works! We now have another telephone number as well as the number we normally have. Do we have to make the "free" calls form the new phone number only or does it not matter which phone we use? If I call our old number both phones ring, but if I call the new number just the phone attached to the Alicebox rings! I am totally confused!!! Please help me! Thanks LG
  8. Hi, Can I just quickly ask, would I need to send the documents of before they'd send the Alice box out to me? Thanks again LG
  9. Hi. We have been using up to now a cheapo French telephone. It does it's job, but that's about it! We have eventually dug out our all singing, all dancing phone from the UK! Can we just buy an adaptor to use to get it into the FT socket? Or, God forbid! would it be more complicated than that? Thanks LG
  10. Hi. I posted last week regarding problems connecting to Tiscali, kept getting error messages etc. Problem has not sorted itself out but today I got an e-mail from Alice offering ADSL. I decided to check again and it now appears that we can get it! Am really pleased as it will now cost me less and should be faster! The problem is that the offer includes "free" telephone calls and it's asking for « Dégroupage Total », here's the paragraph in the e-mail... I'm also not the bill-payer, so the facture is not in my name, it's my Father's. Problem; we have a business and I don't want it to change my business telephone number. They have given me a new telephone number, and I'm hoping that it's just to make the free calls through. I don't really understand anything about it as you can see! It won't cost my Father anything will it? If so, I'd rather forget the free calls and just have the ADSL, but can this be done? Is it as good an offer as it looks? This is what it says; Grâce à votre abonnement ADSL Alice, vous pourrez téléphoner via Internet. Can anyone please help me? Thanks LG
  11. Hi. Have checked with them and they say it's not aailable our our village, but a neighbour is on ADSL with Wandoo!? Think they make it up as they go along! LG
  12. Thanks Nick, I have the feling you're right!  I will keep pesisting, and cancel my contract when it's time to renew. We can get ADSL with Free & Wanadoo, but not Tiscali! Thanks again! LG
  13. Hi, We have been with Tiscali since we moved here 3 years ago. I recently signed up with Onspeed as our connections were really slow, and we can't get ADSL. We've now had Onspeed for about 6 weeks and I keep getting an error message when I try to connect to Tiscali. I click on "Dial" it says "Dialling..." Then it goes to "Verifying username and password" Then an error message pops up, "Unable to connect as the username and/or password is invalid on the domain" If I keep on trying to connect it will do after the 5th or 6th attempt. But it's driving me mad! I haven't changed my password or username, so I don't know what to do! Has anyone any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks in advance LG P.S. Have just been to http://www.tiscali.fr and it's brougt up "ALICEADSL"! What is that all about???? I can still log in, so have Tiscali changed then, could that explain why I'm having problems connecting?
  14. Hi all. I'm hoping someone can help me!! I have internet connection through a modem and the ISp is Tiscali. We took a 12 month contract out in June 2004, but I received a letter in Jan 2005 which I didn't fully understand so I ignored it! Now I know what it was saying was that they were going to put the monthly charge upto 30€ per month and re-start my contract from February! So I still have another 7 months to run on this contract. Tiscali can give us ADSL and their connection speeds are frankly a joke. Both free & Wanadoo can give us ADSL and cheaper! Do I really have to stick out this contract with Tiscali for another 7 months? Is there anyway out of it? My French is not good enough to attempt a phone call, and half the time I can't access my e-mails, so that's out too! Can anyone offer any advice, other than continuing to pay Tiscali and taking up an offer from another ISP? Thanks
