  1. If you pop in to any of the major DIY shops, (Mr Bricolage, Brico Depot) etc for 15 euros, you can buy the alignment meter to do this. It's called the "OPTEX Optisat" ref No :426089. You plug it in to your dish via the screw in cable, put in the ear piece and you hear when the signal is strongest. The elevation for the dish is listed in a book for 5 euros. The angles are already marked on the dish mount. This way, you don't get charged loads of money and you still have the meter to lend to your friends. Best of luck.
  2. I don't suppose there are any keyboard players residing in or close to La Creuse (23) are there? It seems that this part of France needs some serious live Rock music. (Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, General electric blues, and maybe a bit of Van Halen and Guns n' Roses thrown in for good measure. Ideally, you'd be a singing keyboardist but another gutarist sharing rhthym, vox and some lead would also do. We are Drums bass and guitar. (not the name, just the line up) All Brits and old rockers. (52, 49 and 44)You don't have to be Keith Emerson or Joe Satriani, just keen to make a noise to a reasonable standard. I have rehearsal space, full band equipment and a 450 watt p.a. and we all live roughly 12 miles south of La Chatre on the D940. Keith on 0555 80 50 64. Give us a call.
  3. We bought a house in La Creuse 18 months ago with the intention of moving over as soon as we sell up here in the UK. I suspect that although everyone feels they have their own reasons for moving to France, they are probably all the same reasons. Ask any UK ex-pat "WHY" and they will usually mention the following. Relaxed quality of life. Weather. Friendly people. Less crime and vandalism. Family oriented society. Cost of living and housing. Better roads. Pride in the national identity. Best Wine and food in the world. Liberal outlook towards other people and finaly, one of the most beautiful countries in Europe. Other than that, I can't think of a single reason to move there. Regards, LesChirons (Bassman)
  4. Emerson, Lake and Palmer?? You're only looking for amature part-timers then are you? NOT!! Keith (23)
  5. You don't need a licence for an airgun in France providing, like here, it falls on or under the accepted power limit. Take a tip if you buy one. Lock it up. I took over my Weirauch 77 last year to leave there for when we move over and the house was broken into and that was the only thing taken (Area 23) Keith
  6. If you're in the Creuse area at anytime (23) there's a race track just on the outskirts of La Chatre. It appears to do all sorts right down to taking the family Mondeo round a few times. Keith
