You live in the UK,spend 29days in France then some days in Spain,come back to France some days later,and bare in mind that there are very very few checks when crossing between the two countries and no formalities????????????????????and UK insurance gives automatic 3rd party cover in western europe.....................Car tax is(when I was living in the UK)a civil offence.

I wondered how long it would be before someone brought up the UK,that aside average income does not take into account state hand outs,so all the averages are not a true base on which to interprite household income which at the end of the day is what each household as to spend.

Why not try growing mushrooms they grow in the dark and feed on,well not sure ask tresco.

Hey Russie,I live here in France and my second house is 200m round the corner,and when I have finished it,it will be for rent,but as not a gite.There is a different between living here and having a holiday home as holiday homes tend to stick together and rely on the other brits to provide servives for them and so the area looks like it is being over run by les rosbifs.

Why not just concrete it over(I mean you do not live down here so how do you expect any plants to servive whan you are back in the UK?)and then tile it.Grow some palms or what ever in the front garden(if you can get someone to water them for you,there are lots of people down here that will do that for you,but thats another topic)and take them round  them to the back now a patio now  that you tiled it.ps the information is correct,ie out of the wind and in the sun while sun bathing it as been at times this week up to 39oC.

I read it this morning and was going to post but we went to spain to pick up the other halfs seedlings for her alotment.Read the post on it`s happening down here and you will see that this it is starting or more to the point started down here,ie there is a web site aimed at the english that will do anything from buying you a house to watering the plants so that you never need to speak to a french person.So I think it will only be a matter of time before the resentment starts to show.

The temps are indeed taken out of the wind,and are taken on our sun trap known as a roof  terrase berween 13000 and 1500.ps remember the french give the minimum temps.
