  1. Hi, this year, I used Piscine Ambiance of Brive (post code 19100).  They came all the way up to 24360 (northern Dordogne). Their pools are reinforced concrete, in 5 bits, their liners are excellent and the service is super.  They turned up when they said they would (ordered in Oct and installed in April). Price was reasonable, c. 25,000 euros for a 9x4, with a Roman end and a heat pump, summer and winter cover, blah, blah. This was a salt water pool which is nicer (no eye stinging) and cheaper to run. Installation was complete in 5 days.  I would use them again, but next time I'd get them to put the terrace down too - very expensive, but classy. Their number is 0555-18-97-18. They have a lady who works in the office in the afternoons who speaks OK English.  There was a lady who spoke v good English, but not sure she's still around.  All staff are very good. They have specialist teams for various aspects of the installation and maintenance. Good luck.
  2. No, it's not AFNOR certified, but it does conform to the stds as I have seem them from the Dordogne prefecture (these were sent to me when I submitted my planning application).  My fence is being built by a builder.  Gates are a little tricky as you need two forms of closure.  I think it's rather tempting to go overboard here.  I don;t want to ignore any law/regulation (typical Brit), but I am loathe to pay through the nose for fencing that's over-priced and unsympathetic with my less-than-pristine property.  My fence will be compliant.
  3. Yup, heat pump is the way to go.  For a 9X4.5 pool, reckon on 4-5k euros. The summer should be all right in any case, but this should give you end-May to early Oct.  A fraction of the cost of a heat exchanger (by electric, oil or gas heating).  Cover the pool whenever not in use (unless it's close to 30c, in which case leave the cover off as you are close to the algae zone). 4. The fence must be 110cms tall, without any foothold or other relief on the outside.  Horizontal or diagonal contours on panels aren't compliant.  The fence must be able to take an impact of 25kgs.  My new fence is wooden, with vertical boards about 2cms apart.  It cost me around 35 euros a metre, plus fitting.  Happy to discuss.
